I think all City fans in the 90's who stood by the club always believed that one day we would make it to the top division - we all knew that we had the potential to do it but it wasn't the ambition of the owner & chairman (Chris Needler & Martin Fish) who were happy to just get by in the lower leagues. Once the Club got taken on by A.Pearson who shared in the ambition of the fans there was only one direction that the club would go.
I like what jamesthemonkeh is saying. Everybody thought it was silly that we could make the Premiership in '96 but it turned out to happen. Everybody thinks it's silly that we could make the CL now, but... It's obviously extremely unlikely to happen in that timeframe but as an 18 year old fan I'd like to think I have something to look forward to in the rest of my city-supporting life, and that I didn't see us at our peak at the age of 16.
depends if you think City in the Premiership again is something to look forward to, particularly in its current form. Personally I already have the trip prepared to York each week when we are promoted again!
why is it then ? 4 years ago city went up with stoke. they kicked on to where they are now But Hull did not thanks to the old regime. But who knows what the next 4 years will bring ? DARE TO DREAM...AGAIN ?
id like to think i might see city in europe one day, when you see birmingham in it, and fulham making the final, its not impossible i dont think with 5-10 years careful planning and steady building... think champ league might be a bridge too far, unless a freak nuclear accident wipes out, the whole of london, manchester, birmingham, and liverpool, we may have shot at sneaking in...
"I truly believe one day Hull City will be playing Champions League football. Possibly with Stoke too. " Haha...Has someone been puffing on a Jamaican Woodbine.... Stoke in the Champions League...How ridiculous
