I agree and That's true of the players.
However, I don't think our owners, plus McCann and Darnborough have done what could be expected of them. I totally get it about the cloth cutting etc. But, between them, to deliver as squad that is so short on experience at this level is simply not good enough. The young promising talent deserve better from the 3 of them. Not talking /expecting big money signings, but to use the (mid table ha ha) budget well enough to get the balance right. Fingers crossed for what happens this coming week.

I’m not enjoying Lewis-Potter at the moment. He’s not making his runs, he is constantly whining at Elder and he’s lost his knack of beating a man. Same against Derby. Needs gently taking down a peg or two.

I agree he’s simmered off since Preston but today Elder had the easiest pass to make all game that would’ve put KLP through on goal and he overhit it for a goal kick to Fulham. If I was KLP in that situation, I’d be ****ed off too.

KLP a great prospect but at this level I think he's still a prospect not yet the full deal. Lot of growing up to do this season against better defenders.

This. I don’t doubt the lads’ effort and determination at all. Even against Derby, we stunk to the high heavens but that was down to ****e tactics, not a lack of work-rate imo.

I do think this squad lacks experience. Not even specifically Championship experience but just maturity in general. And certain players just aren’t good enough for this level. We need some more mature players and some players who are more technically-gifted for the younger players with raw talent to learn and develop from. We aren’t going to get that by relying on young loanees who’ve only ever played at League Two or League One level or free transfers from League Two or League One imo.

To be honest ric the way I read it was, he wants hull city to do well but thinks it’ll be a while before we add to the points total. It’s more of a hope and head and heart situation than a contradiction

Well he had a right to grumble about that incident. But it was throughout the match, the lad just seems totally out of sorts and I’m worried when our squad performance is so reliant on cohesion and collective effort.

It was always going to be a big ask today so 2.0 for this young squad was okay, unfortunately it’s another loss and I know it’s very early in the season but losing can become a bad habit. We obviously need a win has soon has possible before heads start to drop. Sounds has though effort was there but lacking in quality. We know it’s going to be a struggle just stick behind the lads, I’m sure the effort will continue but I’ve said It over and over again that bit of experience AT THIS LEVEL is needed. The problem is getting a couple of decent experienced players in who aren’t crap. With our transfer situation it’s not easy.

Today was a bit like when we’re in the premier as in playing a side we know can run up cricket scores against us so fair play to the lads

Difficult for him being brought on right mid and 2-0 down against a far better side than us. But enough to see that he's too good not to be starting. Tbh, no idea how to accommodate him, but that's what McCann and his gang are paid to fathom.

I like Emmanuel but just think he reads the game better when playing at the back.

Maybe if Alfie is fit for next week and from the interview the lad Bernard did ok, that that opens up and option to push Alfie forward and maintain the back 4 as today...?

Played ok, apart from two horrible defensive howlers. Unfortunately inexperienced kids will make mistakes. Got the feeling Fulham had a few gears in reserve, if felt like a cup game of lower division team vs higher division. The lower team huff and puff against higher opponents, who just have that class at each end of the pitch.
The size of our players does worry me, on top of the lack of experience.
Incidentally, what has happened to Jones? He wasnt on the bench, so presumably injured? Hope no ones put a bid in?
