No. I think I said this on the board in the early days. My dad and uncle were blues and expected me to follow naturally. The first game they took me to was a derby game and being an awkward little sod I chose the other team. Turned out to be quite a good decision.
My Dad (love him, miss him) was an Evertonian. My older brother grew up to support Liverpool so I did too. Liverpool were in the second division at the time so I presume it was maybe peer pressure and/or us being located in South Liverpool. My Dad was a typical Evertonian in that I can only remember him ever wearing blue. In our house w e all had to take turns doing the dishes. When it was his turn to dry and the tea towel happened to be red, he would leave it on the hook and get a clean blue one out. He did buy me my first LFC scarf. I miss him so much.
My old man doesn't like football, his passion his racing (bikes & cars). I started to support Liverpool because my brother (older) did. Thing is, he'd swap teams all the time to whoever was winning, I just happened to copy him at a time when he was Liverpool. Difference is, I'm loyal
They've bought an awful lot of ****e over the years, who ever recommended these signing has cost the club dearly. Not really cheap either, some high price tags as well.
He denies it. Thing is, he still does it, claims to be Chelsea fan when they're winning. He liked Man Utd in 90s too. Sports our local side when they're doing well too but never mentions them otherwise
They were winning when I started supporting them mid-80s but I didn't truly follow them (or football) until the early 90s when we'd become ****e
I didn't get into football into the early 90s either. We were living in Cumbria at the time and the nearest league team (let alone Prem team) Was Carlisle United, and even that was 30 miles away and I'd never been there. Looking at the map, Manchester, Liverpool and Newcastle all looked roughly the same distance away and I went with Liverpool because certain of my friends were Liverpool fans. The first thing I remember us winning was the treble in 2001, nearly 10 years later. My Dad's not really into football but is in principle a Spurs fan, though his Dad and brother used to be Arsenal season ticket holders, so no idea how that came about.
I was aware of Liverpool winning things prior to Dalglish leaving and I vaguely remember us winning the FA Cup in 92 under Souness but I'd probably say the League Cup win in 95 is my first proper memory of us winning something.
Anyone watching the Brighton game? Trying to work out how Watford got a foul when Brighton player took a shot from free kick that hit Watford player in the head
Bissouma been absolute quality for Brighton today. Think only matter of time before he moves to a big club. Def wouldn't mind him at liverpool.
