If it’s any consolation the Torino fans are absolutely overjoyed to see the back of him if Twitter is anything to go by
Remember how quickly Ings became an injury prone 29 year old...? And apparently Celtic fans were overjoyed to see the back of Armstrong. And he is arguably our difference maker
The dislike of Lyanco does not appear to be recent, heh. I can find months-old posts where their fans describe him as the worst defender they've ever seen. Granted, that could just be social media, but he did get dropped pretty well permanently from their lineup after they got stuffed 7-0. In fairness, there does seem to be a debate concerning whether he's genuinely as bad as he looked, or if he was playing badly because he'd been in a longstanding dispute with management.
Absolutely. One game is not a career, and he could well be a good player for us. But he also couldn't get regular playing time on a really bad team for the final four months of last year. Seems like an "expect very little, but hope for more" situation.
Also, stats for the past two years: When Lyanco starts (36 games) - 6 wins, 9 draws, 21 losses (0.69 points/game). When Lyanco doesn't start (40 games) - 12 wins, 14 draws, 14 losses (1.25 points/game). There are certainly other factors at play, but it's not a great sign that they played like nailed-on relegation fodder with him in the lineup, and like a solid mid-table side without him, with the two samples of equal size.
Perhaps his style doesn’t suit Italian football? I don’t know enough about the details. But apparently he is quick and strong which are good PL stats But I don’t think there are many bully boy forwards in Serie A. Hence why Lukaku likely shocked them all
Lyanco ffs. Makes Nat Phillips look like Ramos And that is all our business done as well apparently. Unless we can get Danny Fox back for the B team
A few times last season Although I also said the same about Lovren after watching him at Lyon and he turned out alright. I’m more concerned at the apparent end to our window with the signing.
We're still after a back up LB according to Dan Sheldon of The Athletic. Think we will be sorted then.
Interesting that two top 8 Spanish sides were also keen. There must be something to interest them. Perhaps Southampton like his passing range.
This guy looks w@nk. Would rather Cahill or anyone else we’ve been linked to. Where’s the f*cking Ings/Vestie money? Kunts Yes I’m drunk
Southampton are still looking to bring in another left-back, & are keen on wrapping up a deal for Everton youngster Thierry Small. And that will be the last of the transfer business allegedly.
