My sincere apologies for posting the link to the game ,l can assure you I will not do that again if NES puts out a team like that again
I think the most damning thing that can be said about that is Sissoko would have made the team considerably less disjointed
Proper 3rd rate European comp tie, poor game, even poorer officiating. 0-0 would have been a fair result. Positives - Sessegnon Romero The fact Harry winks was so bad that it may increase the speed in which we get rid. Young lads getting some games. Only lost 1–0 so should comfortably turn that over in the home leg. not so positives - CCV showed why he will be forever loaned to championship clubs. We need to work out where Bryan’s best position is. Fringe players like gio and Doherty showing absolutely nothing that might push them to a starting place in the league.
1-0 FT Would've bitten a hand off for that result as soon I as saw the line up. Bit of an over reaction on here tbh against Nuno. Yes it's on him but chances to blood the youngsters and bring in the new signings will be few and far between this season. Unsurprisingly the worst performers were the more established players. CCV, Doherty, Winks and Lo Celso were all atrocious. And I am yet to see anything from Clarke to suggest he is worth even 10% of the £11m we supposedly paid for him. Awful player. I think part of this evening's selection was a statement to Levy and Paratici: Once you take away my starting XI and the players I simply do not trust to do a job, we are down to the academy. I hop they paid attention and now move heaven and earth to clear out at least some of the untrusted players while bringing a few more in. All in all, poor performance but a really good result to take home. The youngsters did very well, Romero grew into the game and Bryan looks like a proper player.
Wishful thinking, mate. I’ve been praying for that for 4 years now after every **** performance to no avail.
It’s not really an overreaction. If you pick a **** team and get the performance and result to match you rightly cop the flack for it. Zero issues with rotation and giving chances but to leave the whole first XI at home? Dumb, stupid and ludicrous.
Oh really?? Hope you're right... They were so comfortable against us it was a feckin' run out for them. It's gonna take a hefty influx of first teamers next week to turn the tie around - exactly what we didn't want and probably can't afford to risk.
He should be doing that face-to-face, not on the pitch. We need to sell and replace about 10 players and I'm not even joking. That doesn't excuse that stupid formation and team selection. Scarlett spent most of the game without a teammate within about 20 yards of him.
I had no expectations therefore I was not disappointed, BUT the senior players were woeful. Winks and LolCelso were very bad indeed, Doherty must surely have been done in by Covid as I can see no reaon why you would buy him. Davies at least tried to make something happen but alas it didn't.
Doherty, Lo Celso, Sessegnon and Ndombele are 4 of the worst spurs signings I can remember... and I remember Andy Gray and Rasiak ffs
Channelling my inner Spurf here when I repeat: Poor performance, good result. As bad as we were, they really weren't much better. Take away the ridiculous free kicks for diving and they created no more than 3 chances all game. Gollini barely had to move. I don't think we'll need that many regulars next week to beat this lot. Of course a lot depends on Kane's availability but I'd say add 3-4 key players to that team with another 2 senior players on the bench and we'll be absolutely fine.
Not too worried about the result tonight , sure we will step up in the home tie , very disappointed with the so called senior players and desperately hope that this was one offs for Bryan and Romero
Nah. They all looked like they wanted to be there, knew what they were doing and were enjoying themselves.
Maybe i'm calm because I honestly couldn't give a **** about this clown conference of a tournament. The sole benefit I see in it is a chance to blood the youngsters and get minutes for fringe players. And that is exactly what Nuno just used it for. Yes it's important we qualify but for no reason other than with qualification comes a minimum 6 games to tap into that sole benefit. If we do qualify, I don't want to see a single first team player play a single minute for the duration of the group stage.
The main benefit is it gives you automatic entry into the EL qualifying rounds next season if you win it. Think about that, no pressure to finish 6th.
