I'm not sure on that. There's a fair few owners who have made money. That being said, I do believe this summer was the perfect opportunity to spend £2-3m and really push us on. How?
It's free money isn't it? If they wait long enough the embargo finishes and they don't have to pay it back at all? I never thought for a minute they'd pay it back (unless we're really in the **** come January) And a mid table budget is different to actually spending that budget
It ends when it's paid back. It doesn't have a time expiry. In Reading and Derby's case, I think theirs ends when they sort out their accounts to a level where they don't go over the threshold set by the EFL for sustainable losses.
Interest paid and group tax benefit now exceeds the amount of debt on the books. They could easily sell the club for £15m tomorrow and they’d be £15m up on what they’ve spent.
They're in the minority. Most clubs operate at a loss. I think I read somewhere that less than 1% of professional clubs make a profit for more than 5 consecutive years. The rest either break-even or operate at a loss.

I've no idea about Derby, but I thought the rules, regardless of dispensation, were written that the loan meant you had only a time limited embargo. It doesn't need to ever be paid back and they knew that when they took it out. Sensible to take it, but whether its sensible to not pay it back and live with the embargo is subjective
They whinged about having injured players, so the EFL told them they could replace the injured players. We've got Honeyman and Wilks out for a sustained period but haven't pushed the EFL to allow us extra signings, simply pushed them to allow us a one in, one out policy. One club is accused of breaking the rules leading to an embargo, the other took a self-imposed embargo. Yet club seems to be getting more leniency.
Because they’ve already made millions from tv money/transfers/loan repayments and charging consultancy fees. They’ve made an absolute shot load. With Greaves/KLP to sell we’re the gift that keeps on giving.
The two obvious ones are Norwich & Brentford, they both go about their business differently but the overall strategy is the same. Develop young players to sell on. We're definitely on the right path, but we're in the very early stages of that. I don't really care how most clubs are run, most make idiotic decisions and spent stupid amounts on mediocrity. If any side in the League has 2 summers of decent recruitment, it's highly likely they'll be a PL team. On Derby, I have no idea how they got more players. CKR is meant to be out long term and Honeyman & Wilks will be back within the month so that's probably why we aren't allowed to.
A Derby mate expects a points deduction. Morris can't submit proof he can guarantee football related assurances. The EFL are fighting the battles they can win according to him, and that'll be a points deduction.
Yea I expect Derby to take up one of the relegation places even without a points deduction as the club is in a complete mess.
That’s what we’re all hoping for along with posh n Blackpool. Funny league the championship and teams with different styles can beat anyone Wasn’t too bothered about the qpr defeat more so the individual performances. but derby defeat was and is a huge concern. I’ll say it again the formation does not help us. Three players are out of the game when they move the ball through from defence to midfield and out midfield can’t cope as they’re out numbered. Doc is definitely sitting deeper to manage this but it’s still not enough. Both our full backs have acres of space to cover and are in no mans land push high up to help Smallwood and doc and they leave space behind! Coyle was in line with his centre backs for derby goal but look where the shot came from? Who was supposed to be there ? Better teams will exploit our shape.
