You lot think you have problems....no mask means I have to wear lipstick again. I've enjoyed being just a pair of sultry eyes above a mask.
A nurse in Germany has been found to have given saline instead of the vaccine because she is an antivaxxer. The authorities are having to trace about 8,500 people to remedy the situation. Disgusting
Ignoring the government's own advice what an example to set. https://www.theguardian.com/politic...g-masks-in-commons?CMP=Share_AndroidApp_Other
https://www.rte.ie/news/coronavirus/2021/0818/1241426-live-events/ God Ireland is a joke. One of the leaders in vaccinations and still no sign of normality. My football club at home got pilot status for the match on Friday. 800 allowed. Yippee
Waiting to find out, next week I think, if Spain remains on the Amber list or gets moved to the red list, based on figures that are being inflated by a few autonomous regions in the Northeast of the country. Spanish regions are still implementing restrictions, to prevent increased risk, which include masks being worn inside buildings, and bars and restaurants are only being allowed to allow 50% of internal space to be used. They also have rules for wearing masks in outside areas that are busy. The Covid figures for tourist areas seem to be on a par with much of the UK, but if the government decides to ignore that and implement a change, then there will be a rush of people coming back early, from their holidays, to avoid a 10 day stay in a hotel at a cost in of (according to the government website) £2,285.00 for a single adult and a cost of £1430.00 for an additional adult or child aged 11 or older. Exorbitant prices, IMO, especially as next week I am booked into a Gatwick hotel for one night, including breakfast and dinner, for just £66. Why is there the need to extort money all the time, and if an additional adult can be “processed” for £1430 why does a single person have to pay double? I hope they don’t move Spain to red, but if they do I will just have to stay out there a bit longer than planned, until it returns to amber.
I know you are having a joke, but I know from my time of working for Lidl that most of their chicken products originate from Ireland, as do the supplies for several other supermarkets. There is also a shortage of British staff willing to do the dirty work associated with the cutting and packing, which was largely supported by EU nationals. Going to be a shortage of turkey for Christmas as well, I believe, which will mean a massive price increase for what is available. Still, Covid will still be listed as the cause of shortages, despite EU countries having no supply issues.
I wish I could help you out with a food parcel St. B but current regulations bring a cost and time penalty that means Christmas boxes will arrive for Easter at a price you'll need a mortgage to cover.
Moved my post from the match day thread as there a couple of points I wanted to make and explain why, personally, I'm taking Sundays guidance so calmly. So many on twitter blaming the club for this but at the end of the day it is national guidelines that they are following. All this will be a requirement from 1 October so the club are being very sensible, in my view, to trial beforehand to sort out any practical difficulties. The whole idea is to put responsibility on fans to comply with the guidance. You trust people to do so and 'checks' should and will be very low key. It's no different in my view to having to take a driving test and then carry a licence with you to prove it. Probably the only time you will need to show evidence of a negative test or double vaccination is when you breach one of the other ground regulations. I went to both friendlies with my mask as suggested. I wore it in the concourse when I was close to other people in a confined area (tip: it's particularly helpful in the toilets and near the food outlets to disguise the smell....). About 25% of people wore masks in the concourse. Personal choice. No problem. Hardly anyone wore masks at their seats. Open air. No problem from me. Stewards were not bothered either. That, for me is how it should be. So let's not blame the club. And please be respectful to those people who choose to wear masks as much as those who don't. You will find many mask wearers will be elderly and double vaccinated. So they are not wearing masks for themselves - they can still transmit so they are actually showing respect to you.
