I heard Poveda has had a falling out was told he's going in the u23's but he believed he should be with the 1st team. who knows. So much crap going around all I do know if you get on Bielsa's wrong side he makes sure they know who is boss and if doesnt matter who it is ie Pablo.
If thats our whack on transfers so be it, as you say Doc if he thinks we are better equipped this season than last with players back we have to back him.
Do believe some of these young guns will start creeping onto the bench though.
Summerville already getting the better of Poveda and rightly so.
Can see him giving more of these young lads a bench spot over the coming season.
    As on the squad
He does like people involved and a very tight bunch in that.
I understand why he doesn't want to carry a big bunch of players who he see's as having no real chance of game time or are down the pecking order. with it not being fair on the player and it's also no use to Bielsa seeing players sitting sulking in not getting game time.
He seems he wants a happy ship and everyone on par in the dressing room.
but to me it's right on the cusp a few injuries and it could cause problems but we have to believe in his philosophy it hasn't done us to bad so far.

Noa Lang has started following Summerville on Instagram. Probably U23 national team thing but a few are reading more into it.

Brilliant point made my someone on twitter regarding Bielsas comments regarding anymore transfers and their costs.

To paraphrase - "we all want more Raphinias for £17million but could end up with Costas for £16million."

Not sure mate. not even sure if it's true. as we hear so much gossip.
It does look like he's getting further away though rather than closer.
Shame as it seemed he'd put a lot of effort into his body over the break.
The end of this window will decide his fate I think.

Marcelo Bielsa claims Leeds "defrauded" their fans and gives transfer update
Marcelo Bielsa has apologised for the hurt the fans suffered seeing their team humbling by Man United and given Patrick Bamford update

Marcelo Bielsa claims Leeds “defrauded” their fans with their 5-1 hammering by arch rivals Manchester United.

Bielsa knows how important this fixture is to Leeds supporters because of the intense rivalry between the clubs and feels they let them down.

He understands their hurt and aims to start making amends by beating Everton at Elland Road on Saturday.

“Of course the self-esteem and confidence decreases after a defeat like we suffered at the weekend,” said the Leeds boss.

“The one thing that is damaged the most by a defeat like this are the expectations and hopes the fans had for this game and we feel like we have defrauded the

“If there’s something that hurts a lot it’s to disappoint them and not give what’s expected of us. “This produces suffering. The closeness of the games gives you the option to make a comeback and start to repay that debt.

The mauling was Leeds’ second in eight months at Old Trafford following their 6-2 drubbing in December and Bielsa accepted full responsibility. “When you coach a team who are so generous, so identified and so professional and the manager doesn’t achieve what he is looking for, then it is the fault of the manager,” “There’s no doubt that the responsibility of the defeat is an error in the function I have. “If the manager does not implement what he wants, it’s his responsibility, not the players.” “Games like the one we lost on Saturday, generate hurt that you don’t forget. “But you can point forwards with new emotions that stop that hurt.”

Bielsa also claimed it is vital Leeds persuade Patrick Bamford to ignore interest from Tottenham to sign a new long-term deal.

He played down the prospects of any more signings, claiming he is happy with his squad.

“Bamford is a very important player for us,” he said. “He’s one of the best strikers that English football has.”

Bielsa added: “It’s not probable or likely that any more signings will be made.

hey bud, ignore the Fail, they are being malicious ... Bielsa will never use words like defraud, or blame his players, he's just not that guy ... he will be hurt, and he will shoulder the blame for getting things wrong ... as far as I'm concerned, Bielsa used the scum game as his final pre-season fixture knowing that there was no expectation of a result ... he wouldn't have liked the score for sure, and you can be sure the players would have been left in no doubt as to the standards they need to maintain

on transfers, Bielsa basically said no stupid spending, but if a player becomes available at the right price, then Leeds will go for it ... he refuses to sanction deals where the club is held to ransom, and quite rightly so as we saw with Ben White who Bielsa really wanted

no panic, let's see how the team responds on Saturday

I've been a fierce critic of Bamford since we signed him but credit where it is due he has shut my mouth last season. Long may it continue. I love it when players prove me wrong and become a major asset to the club.

Maybe wearing rose tinted glasses here but PB signing a 5 year deal makes me think things may improve on the transfer front. When someone in the last year of his contract, signs on for 5 years, knowing Spurs are interested and he could be playing European football, increasing his chances of an England call up. He must have wanted assurances of squad improvement and know we have a chance of progressing as a team to challenge for Europe ourselves. Especially as you could see he was hurt by the way some fans reacted to him when we were in the Championship.

Bielsa called Bamford one of the best English strikers today. Anyone remember the other Llorente Bielsa had as a striker at Bilboa and he ended up scoring shed loads of goals and went on to play for Spain. Paddy Bamford overtook his record last season as most prolific striker under Bielsa

Hopefully he has doubled his value and we’ll sell him for £80m to Spurs and sign Noa and Nahitan and use Rodrigo up front Gelhardt on the bench ;)

I’m wouldn’t think the europa conference is the sort of European football anyone is craving, uefa version of the Johnson paint trophy. As I’ve said before, I hope Bamford performed so well because a lack of pressure of a crowd.

Meant over the next 5 seasons, you would think Spurs have a better chance than us, especially as it stands now

On the Bamford front I would say the club have been clever and astute. Many football fans think Southchin is useless and say Bamford should have been selected as Kanes No2 because he deserved it and the way he plays for Bielsa shows he was far more suitable to International football than the others besides Kane because of the work he does. His value now tripples and we all know we may sell him or even drop him before the season is out but anyone wanting him will have to pay the price. He may also turn out to be fkk
G brilliant thanks to Bielsa and his value will go off the chart. Stay postive people

Leeds have won the league whereas Spurs havent for a zillion years. We have spent 15 years in the wilderness and Spurs still havent caught us
