Go private, mate. I worked 11 year for a company and always knew that the option to go private with BUPA was always there. Never give it much thought but I was struggling with a bad injury for a couple year until my gaffer pretty much forced me to use them. After struggling for a couple years, I was fixed in two month and handed the VIP treatment when I was there. Looking back, I only wish I had have used them sooner and more often.
****in hell, you can run! I struggle to walk with my knee. Had an op to tidy it up 20 years ago. Has got progressively worse since. Does the pain keep you awake at night? That's where I'm at now, back to where I was 20 years ago before the op. The only way I can walk is if I wear one of these https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B082PRZ4ZN/?tag=not606-21 They relieve the pain and tighten my knee up but long term I have a suspicion they will make my knee worse.
Sounds like you need a replacement. When was the last time it was looked at, ultimately that's what they'll do but unless private not till you retire, I think? Mine no way that bad, I've got this habit of as soon as something isn't right I get it looked at. This idea of ignoring things hoping they go away is not for me. I've got an MRI tomorrow as it goes. This on my head! Got an issue with my hearing in my right ear, had a load of tests and they booked me in for an MRI. Naturally, you **** yourself, but I'm told it's the only way they can see if there's an inner ear issue. Hopefully they don't find anything else ffs.
Had knee cleaned out about 6 years ago and went from football/running to back to cycling. really miss football and getting out running but having knee cartilage sorted was best thing I ever did.
So after our little lad being born I got my arse in gear and did 45 mins on indoor trainer. just tried to do 20mph as an FTP test. Sore today!
Followed up my power test with a 20 mile outdoor ride. Did not feel good, felt like wheels had been replaced with 50p’s. Fitness has dropped off so badly.
Can barely ****ing walk today. Got X-rays next Thursday but need this knee cleaned out sharpish. Will be reluctantly pounding the ibuprofen until then.
Gently easing myself back into my usual levels of activity after some injuries. Been going to chiro and to cut a long story short, I ended up having an x-ray that showed a fracture in one of the facet joints in my spine. Not a lot they can do about it. It doesn’t require surgery. Just have to wait for it to heal No wonder it was ****ing hurting though
Been taking turmeric supplements since this, high level curcumin with black pepper in as the active ingrediant. It's actually worked. It's worked a lot, pretty much pain free in both knees. Amazing.
Timely bump that. Went to visit physio yesterday to get the knew checked out. A meniscal cyst or something, which they aren't actually going to treat. Although **** knows what is supposed to happen to the visible bulge of some fluid or other, does it just evaporate of do I stick a knitting needle in my self ffs? No signs of early arthritis or anything though, so that's good, although my right knee is still painful locally. Tried some treadmill time after gym yesterday but that can't be done till it properly settles down. Will have to tag some different cardio onto the back of each gym visit. Rowing probably. 20-30 mins, just to keep the ticker ticking over.
I had a cyst once so I just cut into it with a kitchen knife, squeezes the living daylights out of it and smothered it in sudocreme. It went away and never returned.
These meniscal cysts aren't actual cysts though apparently? It's fluid on the knee created by a tear in the knee meniscus. It should just be a case of draining the knee, **** knows why they won't do it. Assume it just dissipates in time.
The NHS only do **** like that if they pose a health thread these days unfortunately. The body will sort it out over a long period of time I assume. Unlucky mate
Bit ‘embarrassing bodies’ this, but I had a sebaceous cyst right under my knackers on my perineum, caused from too much saddle time. Witch hazel gel and hot compress sorted it out. Took about two weeks to go down, but worth a try on your knee.
Had to google what perineum was, sounds about right Your perineum is the area between your vaginal opening and back passage (anus) Apparently blokes don’t have one
Honestly, it's not the same! Like I said, it's not an actual cyst. As in, not yellow and infected. It's more a term for fluid on the knee, relating to a tear.
