Now seen the highlights. Our two goals were great but not impossible to save, especially the Dykes one from an acute angle. Glad we have Dieng and not Lumley
I would like a longer break as we could be without a few current of the recent 1st team players. Those who will not be injured or banned, will probably be tired after two long away journeys. However, if we are to perform in this very challenging league, then we need to ustilse the full squad. I guess that we will test the depth and quality of our squad this Saturday lunchtime. Not long to wait.
Colin quite interesting on this. He says Lumley was never going to be picked ahead of Dieng at QPR and Dieng will be worth a lot of money in a year or two. Good to boost your keeper’s self esteem like that.
Lumley fluffed the Dykes shot which seemed to go through him. I think we would cetainly have criticised him had had he been playing for us.
I think that you are correct and I really hope that this will be outcome. I saw a recording of the incident and for me it looked far from accidental. Hall certainly reacted in a very postive and "sporting" way with no theatrics, for which he needs to be credited! I think his controlled and measured stance may have swayed the assessment of the ref. Austin needs to control this aspect of his play as other refs may have given him a straight red.
Yes, l agree Charlie should be setting an example but l was prepared to forego all sense of duty welfare in the pursuit of points and staying at the top of the table. Yes, Warnock no doubt can be an arse which l was conveniently overlooking when he was with us. If we continue to win, l can see myself increasing my selfishness and abandonment of everything right and proper in order to gain promotion. l guess that’s the benefits of being born in June. I can be as two faced as the next Gemini.
Well what a game that was !! It had everything in the way of poor play, excellent play, poor decisions, great decisions, frustration, annoyance, excitement and jubilation. It was one of the most satisfying results ive witnessed live in a long time. Warnock really is a twat in the oppositions dug out. Lumley is a time wasting twat in the oppositions goal. Their tactics were to frustrate, slow the game, break up attacks and moan like ****. Im glad we played them at their own game when leading. I really cant praise that team performance enough. From the rock that is De Wijs right through to Willock who was outstanding. Ball, apart from dwindling on the ball for their 2nd was also very good and worked his socks off. I predicted a sending off at halftime, think i said it on here. Moses was always one more foul away from walking. Full credit to the faithfull who made the long trip up from london. Our manager, our players, our club made it well worth it.
Well Stan... Since I am only out of "jail" the previous day from my isolation..I am really not going to risk it.. not when on TV too So my seat on the back row standing is all yours ☺️
Son had his second jab yesterday (off work, apparently typical reaction - headache, shivers ‘feel like someone kicked me in the arm’) daughter gets hers on Saturday (and had COVID last year), I figure that it will be much less crowded because of the time and the telly, hopefully they get the turnstiles right, and I won’t be spending so much time in pubs. Possibly. Idiot logic of course. Just don’t want to miss out with this slow build of excitement and expectation…….it’s going to hurt when we lose. Unless we are already 15 points clear at the top.
I think this is one of the toughest championship seasons ever to be honest. Fulham have a great squad along with West Brom, Bournmouth and a few others. This QPR squad is our strongest for many a season and we will need it to be just to stay in touch with the top teams. Things are looking good at the moment, lets hope it continues.
I see it slightly differently - I think Fulham and West Brom look very strong, but the rest of the division looks weaker than normal. No one else that really scares me.
I don’t think there is much quality around, but as ever this league is incredibly competitive and hugely attritional, way too many games. Suspensions, injuries and winter window loans will as usual be key.
The ref told Warnock that he saw the incidents and it was a "clash of heads". As he says he saw it then I believe that means the matter is closed. I think it is only when the ref says post game that he has not seen something that a player can be charged. Charlie really should grow up though.
There really isnt an easy game in this division. Take our bogey team Barnsley on Saturday lunch as an example. Thankfully we are in the strongest position we have been for a long time. Some very shrewd business and players coming good. Wallace is a prime example of a player coming good. A limited player but a grafter comitted to giving his all. Barbet as frustrating as he can be at times is consistent and selected consistently, bringing a balance to our team, which is a key element to our play. Balance is so important, the amount of left footed players in the squad totally balances our play and tactics.
