I wish. Skipp is a very good player and will go on to greater things like Godfrey and others have done. To be a really top player and be capped for England though, he needs to add another dimension to his play, IMO.
Currently on holiday in the Lake District so decided to see if there was any local football to watch. Going to see League 2 Barrow vs Exeter tonight with my daughter. That is some away journey for Exeter on a Tuesday night!! Still I'll be on the look out for a CB and a DM we might be able to get on the cheap. After all didn't a certain Grant Holt come from League 2?
Cheltenham come back from behind to win 2-1 vs Ipswich. After 3 games, they're 19th in the League 1 table with 1 point.
Remind you of anyone Duncan? Some great attacking play while looking likely to concede whenever the opposition get near their goal ........
Defensively, Arsenal remain permanently iffy. IMO that game coming up after the break will tell us a lot. Given how vulnerable Arsenal are proven to be, I fear DF will resort to instinct and have us pour forward in search of his holy grail, the first goal. If so, we will lose. If on the other hand we play as we did first half against Bournemouth, staying solid and looking to score on the counter, we have every chance of winning. This coming Saturday may tell us a bit more about whether the leopard is really changing its spots
They scored 6 and kept a clean sheet but probably second best on your unicorn special data so you're right again Arsenal were terrible
Less leopard and more chameleon perhaps, so we're less predictable to our opponents. Our recruitment this season has emphasised physical changes related to pace height and strength as well as more versatility. That hasn't shown through yet because of our disrupted pre-season, but Bournemouth showed how much better we could potentially be when we're up to proper fitness levels. Rashica, Sargent, Williams and Tzolis arrived with that fitness while Pukki and Cantwell and others have been visibly fading during matches. I also welcomed the tactical tweaks that brought such a resounding success, but there have been other indications as well. We don't always play out from the back now as Krul uses shorter goal kicks as intermediate passes and the 3 man midfield has also brought more versatility. More counter-attacking is a logical extension of our recruitment and I also hope to see more of it this season.
