I don’t think it’s that deep. Imo Levy probably has a set price in his head (£150million) and so far City haven’t bid that. If they do then he will sell. That’s not down to media manipulation or Levy being clever. I’m just surprised Man City haven’t paid it yet but the desperation will ramp up from them as the window closure gets closer.
Most of the superstars that excel in big games generally play in the best sides with some of the best players. Messi and Ronaldo for instance would generally always excel but when you have Xavi, Iniesta, Modric and Kroos (amongst many others) supporting you, it becomes “easier” to be the superstar. Though these two probably aren’t the best examples as they’re not human. If Kane does go City, chances are with de Bruyne, Grealish and co supplying him, he’d probably bag a hattrick in a final with them.
So, Martinez or Vlahovic on the right, despite them being central players? Even if we were to spend the money to buy players like them, playing them out of position makes zero sense.
No one necessarily has to be out of position. Playing two strikers would likely suggest a 442. Dele drops out of the ten/ CAM role for one of the new boys and the rest of the lineup is pretty self explanatory. Only question mark really would be who partners Hojbjerg in central midfield. Skipp keeps it solid, Lo Celso makes it more creative, Dele could make it more energetic. Though if you are to put anyone out of position, Kane can drop deeper into a second striker role seeing as he played a lot deeper last season and we can maintain the shape similar to a 4231.
Finals? In my humble opinion THIS WAS THE MATCH that Kane and co failed show up in that started the tragic decent. Now, imagine this game played with recent grit. (Also note who isn't in the team.) Skipp and Holberg at CM and I imagine it's a different match.
I think it is that deep and even deeper. Levy is business first. Always. This tweet thread scratches the surface. We lose a lot more than £150m by selling Kane. I personally don't think £150m is enough to cover the depth of the potential loss.
Look at the Euros, Englands team isn't as stacked with quality as City's but you would expect Kane to deliver more than he did especially as captain.
Finished one goal behind the top scorer despite a lack of service due to Southgate’s conservative tactics.
Vlahovic Watch The latest development in the ITK arms race has Di marzio claim that Atletico have offered €50m upfront, €10m in addons, and a 20% sell-on fee So which of Romano or Schera say no offer has been made etc etc etc?
Agreed...but when you consider that he announced he was leaving when we still had 5 games to go and he was bloody awful when we lost to Leeds and villa which ultimately cost us 4th spot. Kane has wrecked his legacy at Spurs imho
Apparently (probably BS) he said his goodbyes last season. That will have been awkward when he returned.
It's like resigning from your job when you're expecting a job offer, then never getting one. Embarrassing.
At the end of the Leicester game it looked like he'd be off judging by how Son and Dele embraced him. Probably didn't imagine City not valuing him as highly as he initially thought.
Pretty sure at least once he's had someone trolling by saying "Oh, hey Coco, what are you doing here?"
Here's a few things nobody seems to be saying on Skyte Sports https://windycoys.com/2021/08/harry-kane-i-cant-even/
