We've seen this all before. We're back in 'the old routine'. This will run until the end of the window...or City agree to pay up...no matter the damage it does to the rest of our transfer business. All the while that Spurs don't publicly set an end date to this nonsense, City know that, if they stump up the readies, Levy will consider it a victory and take it...even right at the end of the window.

Whilst Levy's Paratici's boss, our new DoF has the authority to do exactly what Daniel tells him to do and nothing more. We're wasting the bloke's talents by turning him into another Levy puppet.

On another site, a poster stated that it's like employing a professional builder to build you a house...but getting your accountant next door neighbour, Jeffrey, to have a go at the foundations. Whilst Levy's chairman, it'll never change.

    Levy out!

So if Spurs had won the League Cup then Kane would have been happy to stay as the ‘agreement’ to leave would have been void. In that case, this could explain his anonymous performance in the final as winning would deny him the chance to leave.

I’m not sure it is affecting the rest of our business (other than ensuring a replacement should he go - and I don’t think we’d sell now until that was sorted).

Many reports have been linking us with players like Martinez or Vlahavoic and saying we want them to potentially partner Kane as Nuno has interest in playing with two strikers. Not sure how we’re getting the money to pursue those deals but all decent sources suggest it’s not dependent on Kane’s sale.

I’ve hit Levy with massive stick in the last few years especially but I don’t think he’s done much wrong here. City are playing silly buggers and so far Levy isn’t pandering to them. If the reports are true that Levy really is ignoring calls now then that’s halfway to basically saying “get ****ed, City!”.

Son didn’t turn up either though. In all of our recent finals our whole team haven’t turned up. I won’t just stick that as Kane only issue.

No you’re right. They all disappear but a lot of them ‘disappear’ most games anyway but Kane is usually good until it comes to a final and then he drops off.

I think that’s part of the issue though. I can’t remember in any of the recent finals Kane (or Son) having any clear cut chances. Whilst Kane adopted a more creative role last season, as a striker he does generally need to rely on his teammates to supply some ammo and we’ve rarely seen any bits of play where we can even bemoan a good miss from any of our strikers.

****ing infuriating to be honest at how the teams in recent years have just crumbled when the pressure was on. You’d think they’d want to have the game of their lives and run themselves into the ground… nope… everyone just chooses to shy away.

Had this chat with my lad

He’s won everything…he’s financially set for 20 lifetimes.

Why not join a team that are on the verge of going places but be that man who takes them there…that’s a bow to your string that proves you are great imho.

Might be good at playing football but he’s just a greedy bastard with no love for the game…my scenario is the heart and soul of the game, his chosen scenario is just a mercenary move.

got no respect for footballers anymore tbh…that’s why I have zero disappointment if Kane ****ed off.

these players give the game nothing in return to keep it in line with the everyday man…they get paid well…do what you get paid to do and **** off don’t expect to be lauded aswell and spoken of as some great man too…so much hyperbole about these people who do the equivalent of a circus Seal…****ers.

Diario AS are saying Nuno wants Adama Traore and Wolves want around €40m for him.

Please don’t, Nuno. He’s a 100m sprinter and nothing else.

If we suddenly decided to spend £60m+ on a second striker of the calibre of Martinez or Vlahavoic to play alongside Kane, where should we play Son?

I think he more or less said after his arrival he wants to keep challenging and winning the biggest prizes. Barring any major hiccup, he’s guaranteed a league title in new country and the squad Poch has assembled has to be a favourite for the CL now.

Though I suppose in fairness to Messi, I don’t think he expected to leave Barca. He was looking like a one club man until the financial fiasco there. They’re so up **** creek it’s mad.

Very true but as the team talisman everyone looks to Kane for inspiration if he's out there and because of this his failures will be magnified.

But as the talisman he needs his team to get him the ball. One man can’t be blamed or take all the responsibility for a whole team bottling it.

People were saying the same about Eriksen upon his departure too.

Everyone needs to take a look at themselves in big games, players and staff, because they’ve been abysmal.

I agree mostly, but also see it slightly differently. Levy will not want to strengthen a relatively weakened City in this moment, whilst greatly reducing Spurs chances of achieving top 4 this season. Why would he? It'd benefit Kane, perhaps, and City, but not Spurs. Levy doesn't do ^*&* unless he at least believes it benefits Spurs.

Levy wants top four NOW. Handing Kane over is a guarantee to Man City that it won't be them coming out of the top four, whether they need it or not.

    So, who comes out?

Chelsea, with a brand new Lukaku? - I doubt it.
Man U, with Varane, Sancho and Greenwood up for it and Pogba playing to impress Real Madrid? - Not likely at the moment.
Liverpool, with their defence back in shape? - I wouldn't bet on it.
Man City, without a striker replacement for Aguero? - Possibly not either, but which one looks more unstable?

Also, which one can Levy do anything about?

Say what you will about Levy, but this is exactly where I'd like to see Levy do what he does best. Piss off teams that want to negotiate against the best wishes of Spurs. <laugh>

I very much doubt Levy will entertain selling Kane when…
    1. A proven replacement for his goals hasn't been acquired, tried and tested.
    2. A proven replacement for his assists hasn't been acquired, tried and tested. (Also Eriksen's assists.)
    3. Tottenham are not in a financial, and more importantly league level, position to comfortably attract the highest quality players to attempt to successfully fulfil these roles.
Selling Kane now would rule Spurs out of the CL for at least two seasons. (Probably have to win the Conference League this season and the Europa League next to do it.) Instead, if the club keep him there's a chance, albeit slim, of fighting back into the top 4 THIS season. Especially the first full season back with fans in the swanky new stadium.

With CL football Tottenham would not only be in a better position to get replacements for Kane, but he might even choose to stay, win a few cups on the way and who knows?

It's poker. Selling Kane now, for any figure, would be top four suicide and the most un-Levy like move I could imagine. It wouldn't surprise me if Levy holds his nerve. In fact, selling Kane now would in some ways prove that Levy doesn't share Kane's level of ambition. - The irony.

Pundits and many fans may have written Spurs off for top four, but thankfully I can't imagine Levy has.

I’m not sticking up for them because they have choked in the big games but if Kane really was a superstar then he would take the game by the scruff of the neck and drag his team mates on. We’ve seen other top players do it over the years yet Kane just disappeared like the rest of the team when it comes to finals.
