Chair update https://www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/qpr-boss-gives-updates-on-chair-and-mccallum-ahead-of-hull-trip I haven’t seen any transfer rumours, even on the most unreliable sites……but Nines and his ‘deep throat’ contact have a strong track record…..
Chair is travelling with the squad to Hull. Hopefully my 'deep throat' contact is completely wrong. please log in to view this image
Imagine you were ill off work for a few days and everyone suddenly started gossiping about how you're probably leaving and have found another job. Also, look at his tiny feet/shoes!
Odd.. Former QPR defender Clint Hill has left his role as assistant manager of Bristol Rovers. He has parted company with the League Two side due to ‘personal family reasons’, as announced by their official club website. Has he eventually got fed up with Joeys antics and can see its is ruining his career.?
Tom Carroll has joined Ipswich. Have a suspicion he will do well there Good signing for him and them Better than WRDC imho
We're actually in a good position for once in that we can basically name our price for players and anything less gets short shrift...... If a Prem club did offer £20m - £30m for Dickie I can't see the owners refusing it, not in the current climate.......
One of the benefits of Warbs is that he’s no financial schmuck. Hopefully, being number savvy, he will be able to dissuade the Board from any rash player sale decisions.
Dickie has been a revelation and still improving all the time but could you call him the finished article yet? I really hope the players can see what is building at QPR and want to stay.
I think if Dickie went on or just before deadline day it would be great financially but massively weaken our promotion hopes. Promotion would bring in far more money and we'd still be able to capitalise on him at the end of the season. From a common sense/business side of things that is by far the better option.
I (hope) I am sure that Dickie will not leave in this window. He needs to play, and his best chance at this moment of playing for a Prem team is with us...(until that is not an option say Jan/June 2021). He moves now, he will not go straight into the team, he will be a backup player in a half decent team...or struggling in a struggling team. Go up with us or if we fail after a full season of playing like he is...we will be first choice for a decent team next season (eg Leicester or Spurs or Arsenal). He know that, we know that, the board know that....but if a 30 million bid does come in...we will take it obviously
Promotion is a gamble, any number of things could scupper it, including overconfidence. We’ve taken that bet before and won it in the short term only to be totally screwed soon after. If the right price is obtained for Dickie or anyone else, it’s real, not a promise.
If he moves now he would doubtless at a minimum double his wages, which in a short career could be huge for him and his family later down the line. I’d advise him to look very carefully at any offers the club is prepared to accept.
The sauce, FootballInsider 247's "sources", can just be poured down the nearest drain. Not worth wasting a pinch of salt on it.
That would assume we're 100% certain to make the playoffs or course. 538 have us down at 13% chance of promotion: https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/soccer-predictions/championship/ I think they are perhaps closer to the truth, but let's split the difference between them and you and call it a 19% chance. 19% chance of getting £100m for going up, or 100% chance of whatever money comes in as a bid for Dickie. If it's £20m, at this stage, perhaps it's therefore not worth accepting. £30m and then I'd say the 'common sense / business sense' decision would be to sell him. Football isn't all about the accounting though, much as it might feel otherwise sometimes, and so the board may decide to go with hearts over heads and reject even a very large bid.
If we were offered a rude amount of money, and could use some wisely in this window, it might be worthwhile. Otherwise, with the team currently performing well, go for promotion, and maybe even stay up more than one season.
