Good news. Hopefully now that his future is secure he'll get back to the sort of form we saw last season.
i bet part of the new contract is, if any club offer 5 million he is off, hopefully he will get the finger out and start performing. Get ledley in the middle beside him , victor behind them and give ki a rest .a luxury player we can't afford at the moment
Good news if it gets him settled and playing back to his best ... If he wants a move to the EPL... earn it by dominating midfield!
I'm with Tam on this one, he's been rotten since he broke his wrist and the last thing you should be giving an out of form player with at least 2 years left on his contract is an improved deal. We're just praying he rediscovers some form but it's quite possible it might never happen.
But we know he's a good player. Obviously his form hasn't been great lately but he's been hampered by injury and a manager forever chopping and changing the midfield.
It doesn't send the right message to the rest of the players when one who isn't pulling his weight gets a reward. What's to stop Dan going we had a very good defencive record last year, I want a better deal or I'm going to be in a huff and play even worse!
Thomas the cat, as far as I am aware Kayal was on the smallest money of our midfield players. We could leave him on what he is on and not get any consistent good form. The board would get the blame too tight fisted again. Harry how do you know about the 5 million sell-on clause. Sure it isn't £3m or £10m. Are you just guessing ?
So less than Forrest, McCourt and McGinn? I think you are wrong in fact I think your very very wrong. Oh and of course he's just guessing that's why he use the words 'I bet' alluding to it not being an known fact.
Thomas the story last season was that he was on £7,000 per week. McGinn I have not seen him around. I was sure he was in England. Both McCourt and Forrest have signed new contracts fairly recently, so I may not be that wrong at all. I bet you don't know either but you are prepared to try to bully me off my point. Tell me why you think I am very, very wrong.
Players coming through the ranks or from the league of Ireland would cost far less on wages compared with an International coming from Israel who had various options other than Celtic.
Thomas, you are entitled to your opinion but I quoting from the talk last season. Your comment about players coming from Ireland and coming through the ranks, is avoiding the fact that both were been looked apparently by teams from that damned England and both got new contracts. So unless you can offer something more fact based I will claim to be not very very wrong. I notice you are now accepting iwasn't very very wrong about McGinn although you had not the good grace to admit it.
I think he's on the way out but it's also a good thing for Celtic. The guys clearly not trying and doesn't want to be there so I'd imagine Lawell or whoever has had a word with him. Sign this deal play your best and get a transfer to the EPL or wherever and we'll give you a cut of the transfer. That's the only way to get the best out of an unsettled player
Read a report on the Southampton / west ham game and also heard the Southampton manager on the radio , both said the key to win was how hooiveld out muscled Carew , plus he scored the winner .Surely if he can do that , he is good enough for the spl!!!!
