Danny Murphy reckons City drawing a blank against Spurs doesnt mean they need a striker https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/58223292 Drawing one blank isnt something to panic over. But is Danny forgetting that City have failed to score in their last 3 competitive games, 2 of which were cup finals. Man City 0-1 Chelsea CL final Leicester 1-0 Man City Com. Shield Final Tottenham 1-0 Man City League game In fact you have to go all the way back to May for their last goal in a competitive game.
They've got a striker. They brought him on late on. More of an issue that De Bruyne didn't start and they didn't replace him with Silva, in my opinion. Jesus is pissed, apparently. He's backup to nobody.
I think that City will eventually get him before the window closes. But Levy is gonna drag this out until the last minute and bleed them for as much as he can. Hopefully for Spurs fans, they reinvest the money in the squad better than they did the Bale money, with which they bought, I believe, Capoue and Chadli Also its not gonna leave Spurs much time to reinvest the money unless they are doing dealings as we speak, which they probably are.
Could go either way imo, everything points to it being the right time for all involved, but Levy is a law unto himself & could end up still owning a player who’d obvs set his heart on leaving come Sept 1st.
Yes, they have strikers in their squad. The question is whether they need a new one, a new starting XI striker. We know they have ****ing strikers in their squad, between their first team squad and youth academy, they probably have 15 fecking strikers. We are talking about replacing Aguero. Yes they managed to win the league last season alternating between using a false 9, Jesus and Aguero. The question is whether they can replicate that, or whether they need a new starting XI striker, ie Kane or maybe someone else. That is the question. My feeling is that Liverpool may be back to their best, and United and Chelsea have strengthened, so will they be able to do it again without a main target man? I dont think so.
I was answering a post that said they had "no striker" I knew they had Jesus last season and know they still have him
No, you weren't. You answered one that said that they didn't need a striker, not that they didn't have one. How are you so consistently wrong about everything? It's mystifying.
At least you got it in part which is good since it was your post i anwered. Not scoring in 3 tight games does not mean they heed a striker, they scored plenty with what they have last season. What it does maybe signal is that the providers have been a little off game or missing.
Coz i anit anal mate.Don't take everything so literal, i was pointing out that they were the top scorers last year with the strikers that they have now
The disrespect to Chadli there! Decent baller who many Spurs fans didn't want to leave, though we sold him for around double what we paid. Capoue, Chiriches, Paulinho and Soldado were the massive duds. Though I blame AVB for Paulinho's failure, tried turning him into a DM when he was a box to box player, two years after leaving us he was winning La Liga with Barca.
