I think a canny 'unofficial' start would be Soccer A.M. doing 'cheat of the week' in a similar fashion to show boat or third eye. the players clearly watch it and they'd get megged by their team mates for making it onto the show.

 

That's the trouble, they wouldn't. Hence the FA have banished the idea to the world of the not606 forum.

 

Trouble is, as someone pointed out, they'd probably just take a perverse pride in it.

 

Haven't they done that already? Isn't there an occasional Tom Daleys dive of the week? As the above said they'd probably get some perverse pride out of it, nothing will happen until the FA and Premier League clamp down with retrospective punishment like they do for bad fouls and violent conduct. The second someone gets a ban for it a lot of players will stop taking the risk.

Personally, I'm watching Soccer AM this week just to see if Tiote v Adebayor is featured on 'Get on the Weights'...

 

I like the way the OP seems to have forgotten it is the scourge of the modern game and 1000s of players engage in the act weekly, all this fuss, Liverpool have a great player in Suarez, live with it.

 

they certainly do have a good player. my original point is that he's coming out and giving it the mother theresa saying he doesn't dive. yes plenty players go down easy the same way that some (cattermole) go in very hard but they're denying it makes them have egg on their faces.

Probably every player to come out and say things like this has gone and dived afterwards. Tell me, who has come out against diving and has never been guilty?

 

I never said anybody had but that was probably discussed at the time BBF - all I am saying is that this is being discussed now because it is current and not because Newcastle fans need to 'live with' you having a good player.

Another reason FIFA/Uefa need to get their fingers out and bring in the video replays.People say it would hold the game up but it works in other sports, whats so special about football.Playacting and the likes of this evra/suarez issue could be prevented if they knew they would be shown up during the match.

 

stupid thing is they are shown up in the match by all the camera angles and commentators we just can't use the evidence that is slapping officials in the face within the game. its just stupid.

 

It may hold up the game, but once players begin to get the message they may think twice about their dramatics. I'm not exactly sure but did Robbie Fowler not once own up when a penalty was awarded to him and tell the Ref he was mistaken.
