Lol. please log in to view this image ----------------------------------- BTW, Cockney Eyetie. Are you a kindred spirit with that number 46..?
Think it would be foolish to try to outplay west hams midfield we should play to our assets and have 2 forwards who can drop into the gaps between their midfield and defence.
My bet is that Lallana won't play. Very anxious for this one, not because of no Adam but because of the strength of Wet Spam.
I feel really nervous about this one this morning, not felt like this about a match since Leeds on the first day of the season. I think it's a sense of occassion; evening match, packed house at St Marys and top opposition. I really hope it's an evening to savor for The Saints!
I'm always nervous before every match, but we mustn't build this up into more than it is. We're top of the table in October which proves that we are real contenders for promotion. A win would give us valuable points but West Ham would be well aware that there is a lot of the season to go. This is also true if we lose. P.s. play up Forest!
I am using a random number generator to predict the result of this match, as I feel anything could happen. 2-1 Saints.
Hi all, only my 2nd game of the season because of work and I can't wait for tonight but I honestly don't have a clue whats gonna happen. We need to get into them right from the kick off, loads of pressure, get them making mistakes early, get St Marys rocking and make them forget about their 4-0 win on Sat. If we don't and they're on form it will be a hard slog for us. If I had to guess : - Saints 3 - Wet Spam 2. Rickey on 15 then Lallana comes off the bench on 70 to either score or set up the winner. Whatever happens can't wait to go and see the boys play again!
The Referee is a Deadman! Darren Deadman to be precise, he has some poor reports from the previous games this season. See http://rateyourref.co.uk/referee/Darren-Deadman This referee issued 9 yellow cards at the Skate v Blackpool game, Tonights fourth official is R Corp, and one of the linos is Mr Knapp, are they trying to tell us something?
Just read this interview with Allardyce from the West Ham OS: http://www.whufc.com/articles/20111018/big-sam-on-southampton_2236884_2484231 Looks like West Ham are treating this match in very much the same way as us - very respectful of the opposition but hopeful on a result. Interestingly though, Allardyce seems to be focused on maintaining an unbeaten run rather than getting all 3 points. Does that mean they're going to park the bus in front of goal and play for a draw? I hope not because the chances of the match resulting in a dull goal-less draw would be far higher than if both teams set out on the attack. A 0-0 would be an anti-climax that's for sure.
Nottingham Forest fans weren't happy. Surely nothing to do with the 96th minute equaliser they conceded.
The game is now completely sold-out. I cannot wait to get down there, what a cracking evening in prospect!
If The Hammers are reverting to a 4-5-1 formation then I expect The Saints to do exactly the same. So let the midfield battle commence! Nolan, Collison and Taylor v Cork, Hammond and Schneiderlin
The score could be anything. We will not keep a clean sheet. Heart says 3.1 Saints. Head says 1.2 Hammers.
