Eaves if we can find a suitor, but we've been looking all summer and no bites by all accounts. I think ( and it is just my opinion ) grant and his team feel we have enough with KLP, wilks, Scott ( who has played almost all his time as a no9 untill he came to us ) etc who can play through the middle if needed. I get the feeling they want someone similar to JM to really push him and challenge him for a starting place and they just aren't getting that with Eaves
Scott going out instead of Eaves would give us the same ability to strengthen the No. 9 position surely?
I think it will be a case of whichever we can get out the door first, it's proving difficult with Scott due to his agent wanting a fee and the Scottish teams interested in him don't and won't pay agents fees for loans
Looking at Saturday again on I follow, it doesn't look like forward positions are as much as an issue as an experienced centre-half.
I'd tend to agree, but the ones who see the squad day in day out seem to feel the CF area is what's needed.
I thought the embargo prevented us from paying anyone off anyway. We can't pay fees, or loan fees and you'd expect to see paying off a contract to bring in another player as us benefitting from that spending.
I respect Thomas Mayer for his comments. Good luck to him, there’s a player in there, we just weren’t able to unlock it.
Then that's even more respect to him that he didn't kick up a fuss. That's a proper professional, good luck to the lad.
I think the fact he had another club lined up so he got a fair chunk of his remaining contract paid and has a new club and wages almost instantly, made it very easy for him to not kick up a fuss. He's financially much better off with this situation then he would be just sitting with us getting stagnant
Did he sort it himself? Either way, it's a great deal for both parties. I liked him and he obviously had talent, but he wasn't going to dislodge KLP or Wilks and Williams coming in sort of put paid to his Championship career.
