The Indians got sick of toying with england and just declared hoping for a collapse.

Joe root stopped trying to win once the lead got over 180. he was run saving form then and took all the pressure off them.

Burns and sibley are a waste of space. have been all the time. They are players with a very mechanical process put together and not true technique.

I just hope hameed does a bit of good for himself as we desperately need SOMEONE. I remember his debut originally and his finger break and i don't really know why it all fell apart so badly but he has more talent than the other two.

IMO these two need to stick til 5pm min here. the rest can't stand and block. they will all fall for traps and get out playing shots they don't need to.

roots gone. marginally thrown his wicket away with a slight prod at the ball. trying to sort of block but hard are hard and he moves towards ball and it flies to first slip.

Thats it then england lose from a position where they should have been playing for the win with india playing slow to see out a draw.

can forget these gues doing anyhting. Ali and buttler are great lads in white ball but in red ball cricket they can't hold for 39 overs.

    Oh my god.

buttler just played a terrible shot. kohli has dropped that one imo. should have caught it.

buttler won't last long playing like that.

england skittled after longer than expected resistance form buttler who half didn't know what he was doing.

once one went 3 went quick.

The old cricket adage of 'one wicket brings another' was evident today..........2 wickets on 1, 2 on 67, 2 on 90 and 3 on 120.

    Very exciting Test match.

It was an entertaining match, yes

India are the superior team and great to watch, their pace bowlers particularly, who just bossed it, even with the bat

    I think england were horrid.

Once they got one wicket they started bashing it anywhere. Short stuff etc..only grilled the lad once.

Meantime doen the other end I saw at least 4 swipes totally miss the ball and it one single time did we bowl at the stumps. By contrast india bowled at our stumps and took easy wickets.

    bowling and batting

root gave up when they got about 170/180 lead. the fields were awful to really poor tail enders. no catchers at all. india actually declared rather than let the draw happen. root created a scenario where the england win was taken away by not attacked but ended up losing anyway.

Bowling was rank, never at the stumps leaving the two tail enders to swing away and if they missed what harm.

then the batting was a chundering disgrace. This is down to inconsistent team selection, lack of focus on tests and the impact will be for years in test ranking. We blew the away tours focusing on shorter forms
