Tell that to the families of the 450 dead British soldiers or the 1000’s who came home injured or maimed. Pr2t.
An utter waste. Have I said anything other than this? What I find disgustingly hypocritical though, is Trump supporters such as yourself jumping up and down in outrage at the fact that Biden didn't reverse their hero's withdrawal policy.
Don't worm out of it. That was an insensetive comment. You embarrassed yourself with that. Now go away and stop boring me with your deluded rubbish.
Ive always wondered about Trumps withdrawl decision and now Bidens decision to carry it out. Trump was and is a loony, surely anyone worth their salt could see the repurcussions of this loonies decision.
Another loony carrying out a lonnies decision. Its like the blind leading the blind ! Sorry to any blind people who are reading this in braile.
I think this thread needs to rest for a while. It's meant to be about discussion, but as usual, has resorted to **** slinging at fellow posters. I think a twelve hour recess might be appropriate as a cool off period. Afghanistan is a complex issue that needs a deeper thinking to it's resolution rather than just pointing fingers and ****ing off fellow R's fans.
Putting the party politics in the USA aside…….is it any surprise that America, under Biden, Trump or Obama doesn’t give a **** about ordinary people in foreign lands and just puts America first ? America only thinks of America and however much the liberals talked of a ‘new age’ under Biden and away from Trump….things were never, ever gonna change
Trump's withdrawal strategy was naive and risky, and went with his lack of understanding about anything that happened beyond the borders of the USA. Nevertheless, if it had been carried out by the military with skill, and at a slow pace, it might have been achievable without capitulation. Biden, however, was so anxious to get the USA out of Afghanistan, for vote winning purposes, that he acted against the advice of all his military advisors, and set an end exit date of this September, to align with the anniversary of 9/11 (again, for the purposes of vote winning imagery). The result is the calamity we seen now where surrendering Afghan military are being executed in the street and young women are being subjected to every manner of abuse, and where Afghanistan will once again by the home of Islamic terrorism ready to be exported abroad with deadly effect. Biden's legacy of fatal and utter incompetence is assured.
They'll think again at the next terrorist atrocity on USA soil or attack on a US embassy, and it's discovered it was orchestrated out of Afghanistan. Most American politicians know that, which is why Biden is getting zero support from his Democratic Party on this.
"Might" is the key (and honest) word. I agree with your post but also sadly think this was still likely to happen even had the withdrawal been better managed. What a tremendously sad situation.
It just seems to me that if the US had maintained air support for the Afghan military, even with reduced numbers of personnel, it would have kept the Taliban in check. Biden has cut and run, which is why he won't be forgiven.
Highly doubtful it would be the Saudi government. Bin Laden was a Saudi dissident and and banished from the kingdom. So the answer is presumably, the US would work with the Saudi's to eradicate terrorist cells over there
But it could of course be orchestrated by one of the many Saudi princes connected in some way, shape of form to the Saudi regime…..I’m guessing then it might be swept under the carpet…..but of course non of this has happened yet so we are only presuming
