A good performance with much more desire, effort and apparent fitness than under Mourinho, it was probably a good time to play £ity, but you can only play what is in front of you. Other than Son I can`t see where many goals are coming from, so anybody who thinks we will be better off without Kane needs a reality check, Bergwjin can`t hit a cows arse with a Rickenbacker Bass and Lucas will never score us enough. Yes Kane has acted like a mug, but he is world class and we need him playing for Spurs, we will almost certainly not be able to sign a replacement who is even half as good, which over the course of a season will come back to bite us. If the Kane deal to those plastic oil doped mugs goes through, then he will leave Spurs under a cloud and with a severely tarnished Spurs legacy, but it appears he is willing to exchange his Spurs reputation for a few cheap and hollow medals. I get the impression if he stays and continues to bang in the goals, then he will be forgiven, but if he joins £ity it will be good riddance.
A medal is and never will be cheap or hollow to a player that has been part of a team that has won them. Such a bitter attitude
At the end of the day; We won a lot of the individual battles all over the pitch. We attacked with speed and power. We defended as a unit by closing down and harassing them all over the pitch. We didn't sit back inviting them on to us after we scored. We created 13 attempts against the title holders and this years favourites. We scored and they didn't. Am very encouraged and surprised at the difference today compared to the Chelsea and Arsenal first halves. I wasn't disappointed that we lost the cup final to City...I was relieved we weren't humiliated. More importantly so we're the players. We played with total fear. Today was completely different. Even if we'd lost I'd be saying that the performance is a marked improvement on the dross of last season. We were averaging 10 attempts per game under JM. Today, against a team which cost £900m (including subs) we created 13. Last season we created 4 chances against City. While our negativity it worked in that game it didn't work much after against Liverpool, Leicester, Chelsea, Fulham, Arsenal, West Ham, Wolves, Everton, Newcastle, City, Brighton and Palace. We got just 5 points from these 12 matches. We threw away at least 11 points from leading positions in these games. The test is whether we can maintain and build on this good result.
I put it to you Sir., to exchange the sort of reputation only few get to enjoy at Spurs for a medal gained playing for `Manchester $ity' (in this day and age) is indeed a cheap and hollow medal.
Any team that spends £940m in just 5 years (would be £1.1 Billion if they pay what we want) when they already have Stirling, Debruyne, Aguero, D Silva and Kompany is buying trophies. Kane has played 6 semi final games for Spurs. He has scored in just 2 of them. He has played in 3 finals. He has not scored or assisted in any of them. If he had a great record in those 9 games (big matches by anyone's standards) then maybe he'd have some medals. If he had a great record and hadn't won trophies then he'd maybe have a point. But the fact is he hasn't. Going to City guarantees trophies...it ain't a challenge. If he is only going for trophies then he could tell City he won't take a signing on fee. And he could tell them that instead of the reported £400 000 per week that he'd take a paltry £200 000 per week (what he gets at spurs) . Over a 5 year contract that would save City £50m. That means City could easily pay the £160m asking fee. We ain't bitter...we are angry with him. We missed out on a top 4 spot by just 5 points. Kane announced his decision to leave with 5 games to go. We lost 2 of them where kane was dogshit bad. He has taken no responsibility for his role in the failures and has treated the fans disrespectfully.
Forgot to say earlier...I given Dele a lot of (imo) valid criticism over the past 18 months but was really impressed with him today. A real team performance
Cos that's what we want...if they don't wanna pay it ... then tough. No player is worth the fees paid or their wages but that's modern day football. We have him on a three year contract we don't need to sell, he is considered to be one of the best strikers in Europe and they are desperate for him.
Would be tempted to keep the same team...the confidence from this win could be a turning point for both. Also think that show that if you play well the shirt is yours ... until you don't! It will make players hungry...not Ndombele type of hungry though Too often certain players have been gifted game time when their performances hadn't earned it.
Classless ****s. Homophobia is as repugnant as racism...****ers should be treated the same as if they tried to pull down an anti racist banner imho
