Agreed Lardi, but I think we'll have a pretty good idea where we're likely to finish once the loan window closes. After that, as the saying goes, you can't make a fillet steak out of sausage meat.
2 or 3 quality signings in the right positions could make all the difference. The unpalatable fact is that the only way we'll get that is as loanees, that's the way the football league is skewed atm.
Well said. Mass hysteria on Charlton Life, my response was if we had won at a canter today we would be world beaters.
SeriouslyRidiculous always says "let's see where we are"..... On this occasion he'd be right.....for once.
Agree with lardi on not judging the season on two results, but having been at both games, I will judge it on two performances, and we are a bang average 3rd division side. Hoofball to Stockley, wins a fair amount of headers to be fair to him, but there’s sweet FA picking up the scraps. Special mention for the ref and the blind linesman yesterday. Maybe didn’t have an impact on the result, but Christ if I put in a performance like that at my job I’d be shown the exit pronto. Only positive from yesteday is I’ve ticked Oxford off the list, and I will never return
I can only comment on the Sheffield Wednesday game, as it was the only one I've been to. I thought we did OK in that match, especially in the second half (bar the chance they missed at the end). No shots on target was not great though. I accept accounts that we were poor yesterday. But I have to assume Adkins and his people are going to be working on that - particularly once we have everyone in that we're going to get. And at the moment I'm willing to trust that they will make progress.
Poor by all accounts but seems like a lot of our fans love a loss so they can dig out the owner manager and players they revel in it
A former colleague lost 8" off his waist when he gave up smoking Bob Hope, which gave him the munchies.
