Leno decided to just go long as Brentford were just pressing them from goal kicks. it’s a tricky one, clearly arsenal don’t have the defenders to play out. Tierney and white are ok at it, mori, chambers, Leno just not good enough. So does he stick to principles in which case you need to train these players or buy ones that fit, or do you realise that players can’t do that and mould your tactics to suit them? Problem with some new managers, they have a way of playing and stick to it no matter what. That’s fine, but best managers are ones that can quickly coach players to play that way, or are flexible enough to adapt their tactics to match the players available to them. arteta seems stuck in his ways, wants to be pep jnr but just doesn’t have the players for it, and hasn’t been able to coach his current ones into doing it.
