Well, here we go again! Well done, Spurf! Hope we keep you busy and entertained. And what a season opening to relish. (Did I write that?!) With all the uncertainty around Harry Kane – and I’m inclined to believe Paul Miller’s narrative, that it’s not about a move, but money – it feels like our karma to have that team for our first fixture. I half expected to be facing Kane in this match: now I’m wondering whether he’ll be on the pitch at any stage. My guess is that he’ll start on the bench. And I felt I had to address this whole issue with the song for this match. The choice is an oldie (The Girl That I Marry) from an old musical (Annie Get Your Gun). The original is so dated it cheerfully features rampant sexism as its central theme. [My version doesn’t, of course.] I wish you all a happy season, guys. And keep the fun alive on the prediction leagues. The Spurs without Harry would surely be A test of our club’s durability. The team I call my own Would have Moura and Alli - and Son on his own… We’ve got a new keeper (to be our spare), And a central defender (we need him there!). We’d play pretty - (And) it’s a pity That our first match is bloody Man City! A pain we’d all carry - The Spurs without Harry - would be! Prediction: Spurs 2 Man City 1 Scorers: Son, Moura Cheers, Spurf!
Forgot to thank Spurf for running this again. Cheers. Hopefully RCL won't come in the top two this year.
