Interesting. I've seen Ian Brown a couple of times and the guy can not sing. A couple of mates of mine went to Spike Island, to this day I don't know why I didn't, and the consensus was they are **** live.
See no reason why the would be any better now.

I would crawl over broken glass and dog faeces to see The Smiths if they were to reform though. They would still be ****ing brilliant.

Brown can only "sing" through a modifier, I hope they don't reform, just leave the legacy intact, can you imagine the gigs today? a sweaty room full of balding fifty year scallies and their prodigies, nah just leave us with the music itself.

i wouldn't mind but theres about 6months between me,brown, & squire,(reni is a bit younger) all went to united in the same era, wigan allnighters, scooter rallies, anti racist, and listened to the same groups. they became famous for being "them" and re-hashing what had happened 10 years previous, and it now looks like they're going to do it all over again ............ but still brown can't sing, squire would rather paint, and mani stills gets stoned plucks his bass & watches united.

    .... not that i'm bitter<diva>

i think its sad that such a great band as the roses want to reform, their music was fantastic and very much belonged in its time , i can only think the boys are short of a few quid ,still they were far better than the bluenose Gallagher mob.

Also the fact Manny is now a member of Primal Scream.

I'm not feeling a re-union to be honest. They should stick with the thought they went out on a high and will be remembered as a great band.

P.S. Not name dropping but I went to Barbados in 2001 with Manny and his girlfriend at the time Rebecca, also with my girlfriend at the time called Rebecca....

i watched the highlights too, mainly trying to spot my daughter. not into Primal Scream at all, and yeah your right about mani when he plays for them. I sawthem at the IOW festie in 2006 they walked on stage Mani walks straight up to the mike and asks the crowd does anyone have any drugs for him?

When you see the RoseS footage he's all over the place, ..... see kids don't do too many drugs:)

BTW - I bought a King Tubby Cd from Camden last week, top tunes

Exactly - If you do too many drugs you may end becoming one of the best bass players the countries ever produced...

He DJ'd this club a mate of mine runs in Swansea a couple of times, had the pleasure of meeting him. We talked United mainly but, yes, he was 'refreshed' in that way most definitely.

well it's confirmed they're back, first gig in Heaton Park, followed by a world tour and new material.

at least they are doing the latter part and not just another Specials or Madness type tour drudging out all the old stuff and fleece the fans in the process
