I think it's when anyone defending Burge is called mad, or whatever, and comments like this ... " I’m sick of arguing with people who can’t see he’s massively letting us down and will cost us many points." There's no reason to get so angry with people because they're not slagging Burge off. I was there today and can honestly say their keeper was the worst of the two and he had less to do. The team allowed MK 60% possession and 17 shots of which 8 were on target. That's not a good performance from our defence imo.
Yeah i agree mate. Youve got to admit the turning point in the game was when Burge decided to throw it out at 2 up though. I dont actually mind Burge at all but he is so frustrating at times with his stupidity
Burge was perfectly OK today, IMHO, but the overall performance was not good. I hope it's just the new faces bedding in and a step on the way to building a team, but a decent side would have beaten us with the chances we let them create. Incidentally, the stadium was hugely impressive, but the bar facilities were ****e.
No need for that, pal. Why get personal like that because somebody has a different opinion to you? He's a sound bloke.
Look at the stats from last season. Show us where Burge cost us games and compare that to other keepers in this league that cost other teams games. Come back with the proof and I'm all ears
Over a season Anyway, I'm out. Thanks to @RTB for another great match day thread. Roll on Tuesday and hopefully another win.
2-1 ... we always win 2-1 What a day. Another win, 3 wins from 3 - can't really complain, It was great to actually get to a game at last, even if we did get stuck in traffic in Wycombe and missed out on going to the Red Lion. I thought Dennis Cirkin looked good on his debut, he played it safe a lot of the time but obviously he needs time to get to know the rest of the squad. Lynden Gooch was really wound up in the early stages and never really settled down and his yellow card was no surprise. If anything we controlled most of the play in the first half and apart from a shot from Gooch we didn't create any real chances until Stewart's goal. I agree with @Sidthemackem about the bar facilities - what a joke. I missed both of the second-half goals while we were stuck in the queue waiting to be served. That last 35 minutes and the added time seemed to go on forever and MK Dons had a lot more of the ball and created a few good chances. I thought Burge made some important saves and made sure that we held onto the lead. Anyway at least Gucci realised that if he scored the pen he would have ruined my score prediction so he placed it into the keepers arms The team got a standing ovation at the end for a hard fought victory Fantastic support
