Final whistle. 2-0 win for Pompey. Nice comfortable win, and another three points. Currently joint top of the table on goal difference with Wycombe Wanderers.
Probably down to ongoing work in the North Stand (new seating), the low attendance figures re. Crewe fans, and the apparent total mess up in respect of the club's computer system, etc, for fans trying to sort out their season tickets and ticket purchases !

It had been cloudy and grey all morning but literally the moment we got off the train at Portsmouth harbour, the sun came out suddenly as if someone had opened a window or turned on a light and the sky was blue with barely a cloud visible, felt like my mum was up there, looking down and still with me... Sorry for the sentimentality. In regards to the game itself, it was fairly comfortable, we played generally quite well and Crewe weren't brilliant. There was a period after we scored when they had a bit of pressure but we weathered the storm (or heavy wind rather than storm) and then after that it was fairly plain sailing. Nice finish by John as well. Have to say though, I was sat in the south stand which I don't sit in very often and it was quite interesting watching the Cowleys, they were so animated, gesturing and shouting out instructions and almost as entertaining to watch as the football itself. I gather animated is not a word that could be used to describe Mr Jackett.
