I think finding the best team and tactics for Spurs right now is a greater challenge than for any squad I've ever been familiar with. There is real quality there, and some team that could grab fourth, third, maybe even second, if it was chosen, handled and varied just right. But I don't know how Nuno or anyone else could figure out what it is. There are too many possibilities, and too little success to build on. I've been impressed with his idea of putting the three fastest and trickiest players Spurs have up front. Just change one player, lo Celso for Dele, and I think it's worth a try. The problem is that there are hundreds of possible combinations, and the best one probably has at least one or two terrifically unintuitive choices...probably involving young players, like Scarlett up top, or Paskotsi at CB or RB.
Feeling quietly optimistic at the moment. Good pre season where we look like we’ve played some good stuff (I know not a very good barometer but if nothing else hopefully it puts a smile on faces and gain a bit of confidence). Sneaky suspicion Nuno will get Alli firing again. City have no KDB, no foden and no striker so definitely a good time to play them. Probably a million miles off though and all hope will have drained out of me by the time I’m on my way home from the Watford game at the end of the month!
Last time we had a good preseason we ended on 2 points from 8 games and needing Harry Redknapp to see us clear of relegation.
I’m actually more optimistic than many here. It’s without a doubt that we have many talented players and I count Winks and Dier too as being talented. All Nuno needs to do is set the team up in a way that plays to their strength, which is not counter attacking and soaking up the pressure. Call me deluded but at the least, I can see a draw in tomorrow’s game. Personally, I don’t want to see Kane in the squad tomorrow unless he’s committed to staying.
City - L Wolves- D Watford - W Palace - D Chelsea - L Arsenal - D Won’t be a good start but won’t be that bad. Nuno’s best return in the PL is 59 points, hopefully he can match that and keep Spurs in the top half
Could argue we didn’t have that good of a pre-season this time around though. Draw against Orient and a draw against Chelsea where for most of the game we were dominated means that (hopefully) we won’t go into the season with the same curse as the “2 points from 8 games” one.
2014: wins against Toronto, Chicago, Celtic and Schalke, plus a draw with Seattle 2014-15 season: 5th in the league, Season Killer Cup final 2018: wins against Roman and Milan plus a draw with Barca to win the ICC, plus wins against Southend and Brentford, as well as our reserves losing to Girona 2018-19 season: 4th in the league, Champions League final But apart from that...

A Spurs win today also earns - 1000 hack Narrative (TM) "eff you" pts. - another 20m on the Levy tax (if Spurs do sell Kane to Citeh)
Who or what are the club planning to replace Paul Coyte at half time today , was there any explanation from the club on removing him ?
All I care about is a Spurs win today. The method matters not (I will endure it regardless) . If Nemesis wishes to throw in a Spurs "non striker" getting a hat-trick with Kane not playing, that is ok with me.
