Unfortunately the only way we will know if JWP is staying or not will be when the window shuts. I find it very hard to see someone tabling a price that meets our valuation though.
In these times Raphs cited £10m figure should get us a promising young CB from Europe. And a time. We sold Ings and Vestergaard due to them having just a year on their contracts - and them not signing new deals. There is no way JWP is going this window.
How many times on this forum have I seen we will no way sell a player…. And the next minute they’re gone.

Vesty can go. On balance, he cost us more points than he saved us. Half a good season does not make up the **** he served up previously. Blunt l know, but we need to keep perspective. I look forward to Fox's fans pointing out how error prone he is and also is so slow.
I think this season my be just a little too soon for him. He is very good but makes a mistake pretty much every game he plays.
I don't. Playing every game will really help his development. It's difficult, particularly as a CB, just to play the odd game here and there. He also played at LB a fair bit. I think he'll shine this season by playing as a CB and forming a partnership with Bedders.
Vestergaard was part of a defence that was the 4th worse in the PL last season. Leicester City now have 50% of our back four.
Playing is certainly the best way to develop and learn. It is just tough to do it at CB because most mistakes lead to goals, especially in this league. It'll be a big test that's for sure.
This is where getting Delaney would have a big impact imo. His experience in front of the defence would be huge for us.

No panic from me if Vestegaard goes. To me it looks like great planning from Saints to get Salisu in last summer ready to step up now when needed. Much like how they got Romeu in a year before Wanyama left. They’ll need to bring someone in but doesn’t have to be first teamer.
