Sorry that is selective criticism, the players got LJ sacked and then got Holden sacked and now are on their way to getting Pearson sacked, as I pointed out Holden signed 1 player for money (injured since day 1 and injured again). Either him or Ashton brought in a host of loaners that all failed. Pearson has spent money on one player (and so far that player looks quality) and has been able to bring a couple of other out of contract players and re signed 2 of our own out of contract players on lesser terms. Of course it's the players, as in my previous post, what evidence do you need another manager after Pearson?
Makes me laugh LJ had all his prize possessions sold off and was left with crap, that was why he failed so lamentably, the LJ's crap are now suddenly class items under NP.funny old world.
Shall we count together or do you want to ask a friend? Released Hakeeb Adelakun Nathan Baker - Did get released. Famara Diédhiou Rene Gilmartin Jack Hunt Henri Lansbury Adrian Mariappa Jamie Paterson Tommy Rowe Liam Walsh Marley Watkins = 10 Returns to parent club at end of loan ( this one should not be counted as we didn’t release) Steven Sessegnon
My answer is, that the season LJ was sacked, was in the middle of Covid....total disruption for everyone...what should have happened was to have organised a bit of help for him, an extra pair of eyes, overlook the scouting & medical situation.....not sure Holden was the right assistant that was needed. LJ had an attachment to the club (Pearson hasn't nor did Holden) and wasn't far off IMO of progressing us on further, didn't quite get the consistency required to push on....but I believe we were closer to it then than we are now....... We are in a situation that we have to deal with what we have.....Is Pearson the right coach to bring out the best in the players?...I've yet to be convinced... but it is very early days and does need to be given time.......but if he doesn't gel with the fans or appreciate their commitment, I can't see he will be here long.....how ever many tie wraps RR secures him with!!
Yes let's. No need for imaginary friends. Adelakum Baldwin Didehiou Opi Edwards Gilmartin Hunt Lansbury Mariappa Paterson Rowe Walsh Watkins Wollacott Nurse = 14
I repeat the players got him sacked, then got Holden sacked and are on their way to getting Pearson sacked. That is the reality, the rest is opinion.
The players didn't get him sacked, that is your opinion................SL was looking to progress and move on to the Premiership.....the rest is history!!
I'm far far away from calling for Pearson to be sacked. In fact I would be extremely angry if that happened. We've had 1 league game and a cup tie so far. My comments weren't aimed as a veiled criticism of Pearson, but a bemused observation of people's comments. Pearson certainly has a tough task on his hands - I hope that he can work it out because if he does then we can all get back to enjoying football at last. Right now I can hardly bear to read the write-ups let alone watch the highlights.
Johnsons sideways and backwards football was brain deadening-what i watched Saturday was much more pleasing-we should have been out of sight first half. Johnsons football the last two years was shocking.
You really should learn more about your club, 'YOUTH'? really? 2 were 22 years old and 2 were 24 years old, they were professionals, they had signed professional contracts. Tit?
Because not only were the results poor but so were the performances. If you believe your SL quote then you really are naive, that's what he said but it's not what happened. Of course they got him sacked, how much more evidence do you need, the same problems exist with these players now as did when was sacked and when Holden was sacked.
Take out last night as it's a cup nobody in the Championship seems to take seriously recently, just look at the results. There are sufficiently different players in Saturday's match day squad that were not there, or first-team ready 2 seasons ago. Chris Martin Matty James Andy King Rob Atkinson Alex Scott Sam Bell Danny Simpson Joe Williams These 8 were in the matchday squad vs Blackpool, so it's not "the same" players at all that got LJ the sack at all, It's just a narrative invented by some on here to beat previous managers with? As others have said, a good manager deals with what he has. LJ did it 5 years ago, and now Pearson has to do the same and I'm sure he will. As BCFC fans we have to accept this and perhaps next season are a transition. I know Wiz, RP and co will roll their eyes now, but LJ built a sense of expectation to be in and around the play-offs from his tenure at the club. An expectation that I do not recall in the previous 30 years! Yes SL funded it, but he still achieved it, and that is why I defend him on here!
Ah right nice piece of goal post widening, so now not youth anymore, it's based on full games. How many full games did Gilmartin play? you included him.
Sums it up perfectly -NP told us fans it will take threes years to turn it around-that is the mess he has inherited. Fans sums it up who was at the game last night- So my take on last night...11 changes gave everyone who didn't play Saturday a chance. NP tells them to go out and stake a claim to start against Middlesbrough. Kalas & Nagy outstanding in the Euro's.... didn't do enough to be considered, Han Noah...the same. Williams.... nothing in the 37 mins he was on the pitch. Nakki average. With Palmer, Nagy & Han Noah in midfield we should have completely outclassed FGR.... didn't happen. Janneh...class, the only player that will be considered for Saturday. The 11 on the pitch totally underperformed IMO
I got the list from the official site. I think you will find it’s you that likes to widen the goalpost. A bigger man would admit to being incorrect and admit it. Go on try it we won’t mock you.
Reality please, it’s one championship game, for me the football was much better against Blackpool, no sideways backwards stuff and they looked much fitter, early days just need to improve the final pass and finishing. Previously first thought was a negative pass, looked more positive on Saturday.
OK, Let me get this right......You blame the players at the club to not be good enough for all three managers that have graced the club over the last few years. Are we saying then that it was a mistake SL to sack the coach (LJ) and we would have been much better off, bringing in someone like a DoF or similar to recruit decent players for LJ to work with?? Seems to me the on hindsight would have been more sensible......sacking the Coach was the wrong decision. As is it......decent water under the bridge....we try to move on and I agree with the others.....Pearson is owed some time to sort it out and for all City fans...I hope to god that he does as we will be back to when GJ left us!!
