I would be surprised if we got more than 25,000 for a 2nd round league cup tie even against the Skunks.
Wouldn’t fancy that. Rather avoid them until we are back in the prem. They would be clear favourites and would probably beat us, absolutely no way I’d want to risk that.
not a bad little run out i guess, hate not having a stream these days it is hard to switch over to commentary and having to imagine the 'layout' and players positions...nice background convo of love island and the floodlights . guess a win is a win but we really seemed to be hanging on towards the end, still think grigg should have started unless he is away like.
The grandson is away with us up the caravan. He was pestering me and i tried to explain I was following bthe football result. He plays football and asked what I was following. As his dad took him to a game (man utd) and he said it was boring. I explained to him that although they were a better team, Sunderland had the best fans that made the match a far better experience. He thought for a spell then said "what if they lose" ? I said "that quite often happened in the past but we're putting that right again. But win or lose we get behind the team and have a good time". I then showed him some YouTube videos of us fans at games then asked if he wanted to go to watch with me and his uncle. Yes was the reply
Although I said I would never put my grandson through what I've gone through as a fan, I'm finding myself wanting to get him a Sunderland top and take him to a game. His mam is putting up a bit of a fight and his dad is a Pools fan (with a hint of Man Utd!). The missus saw how much the top would cost for a 6 year old so I'm between a rock and a hard place at the minute but I'm hanging in there.
I was Liverpool as a kid living down here but had to choose a North East team as my roots/connection. Sunderland or them cùnts up the road Never regretted my decision mate. I don't hate Newcastle but I wouldn't swop for the world Liverpool can have all their success but Sunderland are special. Get that top
It's his birthday in October but knowing my step daughter she probably only let him wear it once plus he's one if those kids that shoots up every month which is putting the missus off. Saw him play football the other week and although he hates the practicing bit of the training he loved the playing in the little match they put on and even scored. I have to admit that I got carried away watching him! even though I'm totally biased, I reckon he would make a decent midfielder
We would get near 48,000 no bother we are Sunderland man 1979 last time we played them in the cup, bring em on ! and we would beat them.
Woke up with a text from a mate who was in the away end. He somehow ended up with the match ball please log in to view this image
Would be great if your mate did end up with it but I think with it having P.V. written on with black ink I think it’s more likely to be a training ball. Still brilliant to have though
