They'll be queuing to volunteer for that rather than tackle the rioters and terrorists.

A-level results 2021: A-grades awarded in almost half of exams

Two years of disruption in the classroom, do the studying at home with no teachers, no exams and they are all geniuses. It was a joke in 2019 when a quarter of them were getting ‘A’ or ‘A*’. The concept of ‘A*’ is a joke – something better than an ‘A’. What next ‘A^’?

Let the Leftie teachers decide pupils A-Level grades based on course work not exams and, what a surprise, 45 per cent of them get ‘A’ or ‘A*’ grades. The brain-washed students are deluded into thinking that they are all great and the teachers are slapping themselves on the back celebrating what great teachers they are. The perfect result for the Left – everyone thinks they are successful because they have been dumbed down to the same level.

If I were an employer, I would not touch anyone based on these results. They are a total mockery. Somebody with a ‘B’ is probably not even a ‘C’.

If I were running a higher education institution, I would ignore the results and make all the candidates sit an entrance exam. If I have 25 places on a course, they will be offered to the top 25. If someone declines then offer the place to the 26th; and so on. No need to do that for Media Studies – they will all be working in McDonald’s in 2025.

Over the last three decades the education system has been dumbed down to try and make sure that as many pupils as possible get five GCSE passes; and many students now take 4 A-Levels. Given that the school week has not got any longer they can only be doing three quarters of the work that pupils did forty years ago to get 3 A-Levels. We have gone down the same path as the Americans wanting everyone to be seen as a success; and we will soon be following down the identity politics path too.

The grading system is supposed to reflect the relative merits of students of that year. The top 10 per cent got an ‘A’, the next 10 per cent got a ‘B’, etc. This year half the students are outstanding, double two years ago. Utter rubbish.

When the GCSE results are released we can expect the same absurdity. That will create a dilemma in two years time when 75 per cent of pupils get top grades for music and biology. The NHS can look forward to an abundance of junior doctors that are cello virtuosos.

Toby agrees with her. We need deranged leftie criminals in the country. Who will commit all the knife crime if they all get deported? Empty the Hackney or Tottenham banlieues and it is goodbye Diane, goodbye Lammy and goodbye Sadiq.

    The Land is Ours...

Are you really George Monbiot? Get back to the Garuniad with your 17th Century thinking, you useless cretin. That cabin in the woods had better not be a second home.

They could never come up with a reasonable system this year
A private school head teacher asked Nigel Farage what he would have done and he avoided answering
Employers and educational establishments should just introduce their own ways of judging people - exams or rigorous interviews - for this year's intake
Less children should go to university; schools should prepare children for life after school - cooking, vocational work and more academic work for those capable and maths and English
Introduce grants and get rid of loans; stop academic institutions taking on 18 year olds who are not academically able just so they get fees from the government
Bring back proper training at work - not the pathetic attempts just so employers get handed government money

Tub's levelling up agenda doing well. Rich private school pupils getting a leg up into Uni via their fee paying parents leaning on the schools to give higher grades. Whereas your average Monkeyhanger can go hang.
