Love lamb but unfortunately the wife doesn't like the smell of it cooking. Could eat a lot more fish, especially halibut. Also like smoked salmon. Both a bit expensive to have everyday. I think if I was young now I would be a vegetarian or a pescatarian. One of my grandaughters is a pescatarian the other has been vegetarian for about 7 years now. The grandson is a confirmed carnivore.
On a training course at a factory in France, dinner time was a 3 course meal in the works canteen with wine. Four of us at the table and of course the standard jokes about horse meat, so we get to Friday and the waiter tells us that the sausage were having is a local speciality. I give it a minute or two till the others have had a bite of their sausage and then say You know that horse we've been eating all week well it must have had a big cock because we've all got 6 inches of it. The clang of 3 set of knives and forks hitting the table could be heard all over the canteen.
I'm a great lover of both lamb and fish though watching 'Seaspiracy' on Netflix has put me off fish a bit. Problem with fish is that it's often overcooked and I always thought fish and chips overrated. I developed a tasty fish dip years ago. When single and couldn't be arsed to cook I used to buy smoked mackerel and eat with an avocado sprinkled with olive oil, couple of slices of nice bread, made a filling meal. Then someone bought me a toasted sandwich maker so I mixed the mackerel and avocado together with mayo and made a tasty toastie. I experimented, added finely chopped onion, garlic and a touch of chilli powder or paprika, and used any tinned fish - though smoked mackerel always the best. I was often asked to bring my 'guacamole' to parties where it always went down very well. In the end stopped doing it 'cos got tired of telling people it wasn't guacamole since it had fish as a main ingredient and no tomato!
That's what I love about these boards, informative as well as amusing. All we've got to do now is get rid of the pointless arguing.
I spent too much time near Robinson's Tripe Dressers on Cleveland St to ever pluck up the stomach to eat tripe.
Very much hoping that we get to see all the new lads starting tonight, not too bothered about wholesale changes, or the result so much, but a good performance from squad players would be great. Even making 9 changes though, we can still put out a pretty decent team Baxter Emmanuel, Bernard, McLoughlin, Fleming Cannon, Smith and one of Doc/Moncur/Smallwood Williams, Eaves, Longman
