Enjoy lad. Don’t know why but I feel confident we’ll get the players in we want.

even if we don’t, and we get some surprise players in. it will be like Corry Evans and we we will soon learn it was the kind of player we wanted after all.

I think slowly but surely things are being done right.

Me too. Very. Always have. That said, I have noted that we need to get a move on as when things close up, desperation attempts are made.

Don't think that will happen here. We are definitely waiting for players who are on the list and not getting squad fillers (plodders). That's been my hate for years, absolutely oxygen thief's, stealing a living and hardly a player.

It really is moneyball at the moment, the youth we have now trusted/ promoted has allowed the pressure gauge to dip a bit.

Make no mistake though, we need serious reinforcements, I think we will get at least 3. Maybe more if a couple go.

Ideally we need 5 new excluding Hume.
    If Wright goes another CH

    LB plus Hume to sign.

It feels to me like we’re struggling to get deals over the line. Do you think that’s the case and if so why do you reckon it is?

Is it just the obvious answer that quality is harder to obtain or are we a bit naive at the minute with it being a new set up?

I know a few others have alluded to friction behind the scenes because of it.

In my opinion, it's probably somewhere in the middle. Good players can be hard to get especially in the position we are in. They know they're good - their agents tell them every day! But the clubs will want at least the going rate for the player. The agents get involved and ask for what they reckon the player should be on each week (plus their cut!) and from our perspective it'll be kind of trying to convince then to drop down at least one league and pay them what we can afford and that will take time.

Will Bailey Wright be joining Wigan? As they've just signed a centre half from Newcastle on loan.

Think our plans were dependent upon Wright moving on, this may alter the targets we had in mind, until Wright contract ends...

Yah it's mostly this. KLD will not do what others before him have done. Had to be sustainable, the entire project and plan is dependent on it.

Business men and women never go out to lose money, they always want more. These clubs splashing the cash are either using clubs as play toys or they're state backed and can afford to go mental on the chance it leads to a success and therefore increased sporting reputation. More the middle east can influence sport - more opportunities arise (world cups, boxing F1 etc).

We're clearly in the middle. Got money to spend to improve and hopefully become successful, but wont risk leaving the club in ashes doing so. At least I hope this is right.

It would make total sense to wait to get the right quality in. I reckon they've a plan to sign only players who can make the jump into the Championship.
If we get out of this league you've then got a settled side who with a few additions can compete. Then you have got a bedded in team instead of mass upheaval going into it. Clubs have gone and done the double jump in the past, that's what we should be looking to do.

Correct and it's obvious that Sunderland are no longer interested in 'getting bodies in' especially when they often turned out to be corpses.

It takes more courage to hold your nerve and wait for the right players than sign anyone who's available and guaranteed to come.

KLD is building something that we haven't had for decades, tbh I'm bored with people demanding he just repeats the mistakes of the past.

    Good read that mate.

this is what I don’t understand, we get a player of his ilk dropping down to League One and people moan saying we haven’t signed anybody, it’s beggars belief, once he gets on the pitch he is definitely going to be a fans favourite, and KLD/Speakman/Johnson must have some clout to get him here.

I am looking forward to see who we get in by the end of the month. Things are definitely looking up for us.
