Barton seems to be throwing his weight about with Warnock turning a blind eye (or does he have "permission"). His attitude and all the bollox written (or tweeted) seem to be doing as much damage as the leak that Warnock is so overly upset with, if not more. Whilst Adel is behaving like a petulant teenager, Barton seems to be acting like a thick bully who has just been made prefect. If Barton is serious about QPR then a period of silence would not go amiss and a greater deal of thought before he starts spouting off again, as most surely he will. If Warnock wants to keep control he has to put his foot down now.
Maybe he's lost control already. Some of his comments and actions have made me suspect that he feels a little out of his depth with the challenges of the PL and some of his players, no need to mention who. He lashed out at Traore publicly and the episode about the leak is almost hilarious considering that he himself in an interview last weekend stated that In certain situations there would be no room for Taarabt in the side.Hardly a surprise then when he in fact does that in the very next game. I really like Sir Neil and want nothing more than to see him coping well with the PL and his star players. He has earned the right to have a crack at it when you consider where we were when he took over and where he has brought us to. That's why his erratic behaviour is more than a little troubling to me.
NW has set his own tone by slagging off members of the current squad, possible transfer targets and members of the old squad. I have always trusted him as what he did last year was wonderful... yet the premier league has gone to his head ... last night he agreed with everything Dixon was saying and made three references to how wonderful this league is ... Like Formula One? you get better enjoyment watching my Matchbox Motorway. WTF is happening to us? Someone run a poll with the options: Joey Barton is Colin's Love child, Joey Barton ... **** it can't even finish this entry sick to death of Joey Barton ..he's a ****ing idiot
Barton's tweets are addressing an ever wider selection of subjects. I see he's now subjecting us to his views on the English Rugby team. By the end of the year, he'll be spouting forth on public service reforms and his solution to the deficit. Clearly, this guys media ambitions stretch beyond an appearance on Come Dancing.
I was just thinking......I suppose I was in favour of Barton joining us because I thought he was a good player and, as I have no interest in things like twitter/facebook, I had no idea how destructive his constant flow of bollocks could be!!
Off the pitch I have to say however like what the prat said about Giggs and Terry in the Metro ... Can't argue with that however let the righteous one do it on the pitch ... Words are cheap
Like Rodney supposedly told Alf Ramsey at half time in an England game, Barton wil probably tell Warnock it's a great idea, they only got a slice of orange at Newcastle
If he does I would like it to be behind closed doors and that we only know about it because the destructive public comments stop. Too much of the clubs business is being done in the media, which just shows a lack of respect for each other.
Warnock knew what he was taking on when he took Barton (as Warnock said himself, thats the reason QPR were able to get him). Unfortunately for you, it will be the first of many such incidents around Barton as, despite his spurios quotations on twitter etc, he seems to have a great knack of rubbing up his team mates and manager the wrong way. We had months of similar stories at Newcastle over the least coulpe of seasons. However, because he put a shift in on the pitch and played with a passion the fans appreciated him - he also knew how to play to their emotions ('loves the Geordie nation' etc). The reality now is that there is a certain calm and harmony within the newcastle team, and the standard of the players we have brought in means, more imporatntly that we are geting better results. You only need to read the local press in Newcastle to hearthe players constantly referrring to the 'great team spirit'. Results are obviously helping but you cant help think Barton being removed from the mix has allowed the players to gel a bit more. The general consensus of Newcastle fans is that Barton was a very good player for us, but Cabaye/Ben Arfa etc are equally good and if not better/younger/cheaper, and the lack of bad press/media interest in everything barton says can only be a positive thing for Newcastle.
