Hush you, you are getting the plastering gig. Some bucko wants £600 to fix the fences after the big winds..... I don't think they are my fences. They are still standing, so they can stay like that.
Bit of a weird one that then Reb as pvc doors tend to drop, causing them to stick or rub at the bottom on the opposite side to the hinges. If there is a gap then it suggests that the door was fitted poorly, and you'd need to cut out all the silicone sealant around the door, take out the screws that are fixing the frame (only on the locking side of the door) and then put some packers underneath the sill in the corner under the locking side, jacking the whole thing up, thus closing the gap. Actually thinking about it again, if you're lucky you might have adjustable hinges, how old is the door? If you could stick a couple of pictures up it'd help mate
A fine body of men Rule 4 paragraph 5 section 2 How to price a job:Think of a number (any number) multiply by 5 and add 200 simples
It is a massive gap at the bottom. Almost like an extra piece is missing from it. The doors aren't hung right either. It is a right cowboy job. It isn't a room I use much and it is only this time of year that it bothers me so I just kind of live with it. I'll invite the aul man to come and stay. He can fix anything.....and that explains why I can't.
Have a look on the hinges and if there is a hole that an allen key will fit into then they may be adjustable ones, in which case, have a play about with those.
Yeah, did that a couple of times and I think I have the level sorted. It is just the missing bit that is causing the bother. The house is like a wind tunnel.
I have enough jobs to keep the aul bastard busy for a week. I'd have to keep him busy all day and all night so I don't have to talk too much to him.
OK.Rebel. I'm going to believe you. So,measure the width of the two/one doors.Go to your local builders merchants and ask for a L shaped weather bar.Affix the bar with the high part on the inside of the door/doors = wind can't come in and rain runs out. FACT.
Rebel without a picture its difficult to give accurate information But if the gap is under the frame, there is a quick, cheap economical fix make sure as mentioned before that there is some support underneath, if not a couple of wedges of wood should do it. make sure thes do not potrude but fit snug under the frame, dont force too much as to lift the door Then get a bottle of that foam filler (available from B and Q etc has pictures of upvc doors and windows on it), simply squirt that under and also get some strips of UPVC cut to size and length and attach do it properly and its a solid fix
Both sound like the ideal fix. I had joiners in doing the doors and windows a couple of years back. I told em not to bother with this room..... I'm sorry now.
