What a start to the season and a well earned point! I've had to think hard about this one, but here goes... 1. Lloyd he's even shorter than Charlie Lee! Anyone that knows me, will know that's a compliment. 2. Dempsey of course. 3. Oliver put himself about so much he look knackered by the end. Great to be back.
1. Oliver - won every header, and worked very hard..... desperately needs a partner that can feed off the knock-downs. 2. Totunda... although I wasn't overly impressed ( I think he'll struggle more then not ! ) - I have to give recognition for his determination at getting in two fantastic 'blocks' - one definitely prevented a goal. 3. A few contenders... hard to choose .. I'll give it to Tucker. 4. The minute's silence. -- I was going to put this at No.1... I've lost ( more than one ), close family and dear friends in the last 18 months ( going to yet another funeral on Monday ) - and it brings to mind that football is not more important than life and death. 5. The turnstile operative - for eventually being able to release the carousel, for me to enter the ground - perhaps somebody should have greased them - but then, nobody has cleared the guttering on the GRS roof (( don't worry I'm sure Ehmer will manage it several times this season ))....... and talking of roofs (rooves) ; 6 ( actually no points go to ) Whoever replaced the new Medway stand sign.. They didn't put the letters back in the same position - thus exposing the faded paintwork around the previous position -- and they forgot to replace the Gills 'shields' ! 7. And definitely no points go to the burger van owner outside the ground - he refused to accept my credit card when all I wanted to pay for was a cup of tea ! - he needs to follow the example of Mr. Scally - who refuses to accept cash (( unless it's a + 27.5% pay rise. ))
Made me laugh that bit. After spending all week listening to how the Gills is now going to be cashless, if those words were not used, it was certainly how I perceived it. Anyhow, so I pick up my wallet before leaving the house....a few moths dropped out....but then I decided, what do I need that for, just take your bank cards. On arrival at the pub, being all smug, the voice comes up cash only Thankfully, my companion was generous, and doubly thankfully I had the commonsense to stick a tenner in with my card. I did raise a few smiles with the 20p's I was counting out, as I remembered I had some loose change in my jacket pocket. Uttering cashless they told me, cashless. It was nice to receive a free programme on entry. I'm sure it has one grateful owner with wherever I left it, within minutes of receiving it. Only I could lose something that quickly. I reckon Scally was hiding round the corner on a conveyor belt system, nicking them from under your arm to give to the next person in the queue....only joking Mr Chairman.
Mom Oliver. Great to see him still at club Ehmer Tucker Thought both fall backs were poor first half. Missed Ogivile and Jackson. At least Jackson should be back soon. To fair to Tutonda was better second half. Bennett is NOT a right back. Philips was my pick of the newbies . Cummings in goal also impressed.
