I thought that it was appropriate for Stewart to out muscle and out jump him for the goal :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Thought he was quiet early on as he didn't get time on the ball but grew into the game. His set pieces were excellent and the kid doesn't hide - always shows for possession.

Embleton. Stewart. Gooch. Doyle. Flanagan. Winchester. Onien. Evans.

I can’t pick a “bad” one from today.

And this forum would he so easy to moderate if every match day was like this!!!

Well I can say that was the most enjoyable match I have seen at the SOL for several years. We were good n the ball, moved it well and got forward at pace. We clearly need to sort out the full backs, Neil is good player and made some really good balls, but was caught of of positions a couple of times, getting to tight, other than that I can not complain.

We are a better team than last season, but lack some strength in depth. If we play the same way as today I will enjoy going to the game purely for the football and it’s a long time since I could say that.

    Clearly.

We've improved the team by culling the immobile, the slow and the weak ...

... David Attenborough could explain better than I can.

Standards being raised, and I'm all for it. Teething problems off the pitch this week and they have done magnificent to sort it (I've had an email and a phone call this week) but on the pitch I'm very happy with the way it's going in pre season and today. Much more mobile up top, midfield was excellent today, solid at the back imo and still 3 weeks to strengthen the squad.
The fanzines are quiet tonight <laugh>

At the time I wasn't sure who scored, in fact I was very surprised we scored from a corner, but that's an excellent header btw. Stewart was superb overall today, he ran them ragged.

How many players can you think of who are as two footed as he is, there aren't many. He could be a hell of a player. His technique is top drawer.

He's had a great preseason and has carried it over, I think he's going to be great for us.

One of the best at it. Both footed. Unbelievable talent really. Gooch is actually incredible with his left but just at striking. Embo is a different level.

just think if we hadn't promised game time he would have been off ,there were a few on here like Clocky shouting to play the young lads last season just proves he was right
