Love it. I wasn't too far away from you in the SE corner. Had a cracking view of Gooch's effort off the woodwork.
League One 2021/2022 live scores, results, Football England - FlashScore Still has us in 2nd But BBC has us 3rd
Couldn't get mine connected. Said something about network wouldn't allow it or something. Me da got on like.
Yes, I was using the wife's laptop to keep up with the game, as I had to charge my phone so I could watch the rugby on sky. Great result against a rival...Stewart scored and Wyke didn't. Still need a proper LB though... Onwards and upwards...
Lee Burge: 7/10 Did not have a chance with the opening goal of the game and thereafter only had a couple of comfortable saves to make. Carl Winchester: 6/10 Put a shift in out of position at right back and supported Lynden Gooch going forward but a little slow to react to Wigan’s goal. Tom Flanagan: 7/10 Was not troubled at all by Charlie Wyke and looks to be building a good partnership with Callum Doyle at the heart of defence. Callum Doyle: 8/10 How is this lad only 17? Carries himself like a senior professional and reads the game so well. Dan Neil: 6/10 Was caught out a few times in the first half but to be expected as Wigan targeted him, that problem was overcome in the second half and played some dangerous balls in attacking positions. Corry Evans: 7/10 The steady presence we expected from Grant Leadbitter, helps that he is clearly more mobile. Can see why he was made captain. Luke O’Nien: 8/10 A typically industrious performance by O’Nien, stopped Wigan’s long balls to Wyke by making it difficult for the former Sunderland striker and made some important challenges. Aiden McGeady: 7/10 Clearly not completely match fit but scored a penalty, put in some dangerous crosses and even made an important tackle in his own box during the first half. Elliot Embleton: 7/10 It was from a great corner from Embleton that Sunderland scored the winner and could have scored himself, only to head over when he should have done better. Lynden Gooch: 9/10 Had the beating of the Wigan full-back all game, hit one shot against the crossbar and then did a job for the team at right-back when Winchester had to be subbed. Ross Stewart: 8/10 Scored the winner and won the penalty. Led the line brilliantly, never stopped running and clearly makes a difference to how the team plays. Subs Aiden O’Brien: 6/10 Came on for McGeady as Sunderland looked to see out the game, could maybe have set up a third but his pull back to Embleton was blocked. Jack Diamond: 6/10 Similar to O’Brien, came on as we were looking to hold on to the three points and did a job for the team. Bailey Wright: 6/10 Late sub as Lee Johnson switched to a back three and snuffed out any late danger Man of the Match: Lynden Gooch Although not involved in either goal, Gooch tormented the Wigan defence all game, was unlucky to see a great shot come back off the crossbar and then moved to right back and looked comfortable. https://www.not606.com/threads/sund...st-2021-ko-15-00.394604/page-24#post-15084802
Just back. Class take. My 5 year old absolutely loved it, new seats were class, sang all game. Thought we played very well. Gooch was clearly MOTM. Pure graft and desire. Some other good performers. Weak link was left side but that should be sorted soon. Great day all round. Home to a ice cold pilsner. Enjoy.
I'd agree with all of that apart from Onien and Evans, I thought Evans was the better of the two but hey ho, both were very good.
Well that was utter sh*te. We will be relegated before Xmas playing like that. No decent performances and LJ no idea on tactics at all. THE LINE ABOVE IS FOR THE MISERABLE NEGATIVE F*CKERS ON HERE. Ross Stewart was class, Gucchi MotM imo, Back 3 inc Flanners were immense. The rifleman did his part and as ever O9 was O9, a thing of beauty. Embers put a canny shift in. Not going to knock Dan Neil as he was playing out of position. All in all a bloody good day, we got a win a good crowd and most people will have come away from there happy.
I'd just like to think that if it was me in that situation, someone would have done the same. I should also add I asked the people in the queue if they knew him, or if they were this man. They didn't, so yeah. I hope he got his card in the end.
Deserved it. Went behind but the response was brilliant. Really impressed with Corry Evans, Gooch had a really good game too. Ross Stewart showed why he can lead the line winning the penna and scoring one himself. Nice to see Lee Burge willing to come off his line to collect crosses and set pieces too. Onwards and upwards!
