We'll sign whoever we sign, but have enough right now to get to January at least. Not expecting miracles but we have what it takes to stay up. Any more is a bonus. UTT!
I'd assume so. Probably quite a few with people I'd imagine once teams finalise squads and incomings. Clubs want to trim budgets and there are not many clubs that can spend fees, regardless of embargoes. So I'd suspect in the last 7-10 days there will be plenty of players looking for new clubs and being allowed to leave on a free
How many games did KLP start last time? I think people are losing their heads a bit and think a season not challenging for promotion is a failure.
Of course, Mayer and Eaves would be candidates for that I'm sure. It's bizarre, we can't pay transfer fees but we could pay to rip a contract up.
Well, yeah. Reason man u kids friendly was behind closed doors was cos we'd have more in supporting man u kids than City. City support historically has a habit of finding reasons not to support city. Nothing new. Gotta be all rosy to turn out the support in this city, don't you know?
Smallwood has played at Championship level, I’m not sure that constitutes proven. I know a Blackburn Rovers fan who is pretty spot on in player assessment - he has seen Smallwood play in League One and the Championship for Blackburn. He said he’s fantastic in League One, but not so good in the Championship - where you have to be able to do everything reasonably well - Smallwood struggled with the step up in the league. Still we’ll give him a chance.
He's had 8 seasons in the Championship, he's Championship proven, whether he's good enough for where we want to be I don't think so but if we're signing players with Championship experience, that's the sort of level of player we'd be looking at with our budget. Personally, I think that's exactly why we're looking elsewhere as we need a better quality of player.
Bear in mind, everyone is quite rightly touting a potential Huddlestone signing as a means of adding experience to a young and talented squad. When experience is at a premium, why transfer it out ? If the lad wants to be a guaranteed starter though, then Smallwood will surely get a decent opportunity in L1.
Matt Smith sounds like a good signing, look forward to seeing him play. I see Flores has gone on a permanent now, I said when we signed him I thought it was a strange signing at the time, and so it proved to be.
I don't doubt it, but clearly, McCann didn't feel he was good enough or just didn't suit our style of play. I'm pleased to see he has hopefully found regular football now, as all players need that.
No, of course i arent. Stop making stupid misinterpretations. I've supported City for 52 years, i do know by now that friendlies in and of themselves mean very little. Instead of 'on and off the pitch' try 'footballing and non footballing side of things' if that makes it easier for you to get. Having said that, great to see those new graphics at the stadium and good to see Smith announced. Unfortunately though we still have Ehab running the show so twattery will no doubt continue. He really should just let someone else run it (or even better sell). Anyway, new season starts today. Hoping I'm pleasantly surprised... or even blown away (metaphorically). #UTT
Agüero wants out at Barça already after Messi left. It’s being reported that he wants his lawyers to go over his contract as he only signed because he was given assurances Messi would sign a new contact.
Flores was a salary cap signing though. We were really short in midfield and needed another body. With a £2.5m salary cap, squad depth must be almost impossible to get in. From what I read he was on absolute peanuts at Dundalk and had a good EL campaign so it made it a bit of a no brainer. It didn't work out but that's life.
Shows how desperate both parties are really. Derby need warm bodies, and Morrison is in the last chance saloon to be taken seriously. I mean, does anyone think Rooney will be the manager to turn him around?
