So Festus Arthur has joined Barrow, that's a good move for him and he'll be playing in League Two. Good luck to him.
Regardless of what you think of the Allams, it will be difficult as a fan to deny this is a ridiculous and haphazardly way of doing our transfer business. When we signed some decent players early on, I was pleasantly surprised we did some of our transfer business early but since the terms of this EFL loan has come out, the club has embarrassed itself. It's almost like we can't go one transfer window without incompetence hampering the club. I feel sorry for McCann. He's probably had his targets lined up since we were crowned Champions but he's been hamstrung by those running the club who don't have a clue what they're doing.
Barrow have signed highly rated young defender Festus Arthur on a season-long loan deal from Hull City.
Im sure Grant will feel he has a stronger first team squad with the incomings (plus expected ones). Only 2 have gone out who would have had a chance of featuring in the championship and theres likely 8 in.
He has been training with City all week, we couldn't get the deal sorted until we cleared space in the squad.
He’s training with the club and has been for the last few days the Flores exit will now I’m sure confirm the signing.
Whatever you think of the quality of the incomings, 1 more in today would amount to an overhaul of practically 1/3rd of the entire playing squad, before the season opener.
There's more than one pitch .... ffs. They've been working on the training pitches for a few weeks, and on pitches during the friendlies. Part of the idea is to do the best to give the manager the best chance of having a squad ready to hit the ground running for the start of the season. For some reason, our owners time and again manage to make it way more difficult that it should be (as others have already covered) Am I really having to explain this.
Shouldn't this be on the Derby board? There'll be 7 in this pre-season with space for another. We've hardly been prevented doing business.
Hopefully Hudds but I’m not going to get into a argument about that today it’s Friday and it’s felt like a very long work week.
If Grant feels he can withstand the rigours of the Championship, then he could be a very useful 'plan b'.
