Malfunction indicator lamp. So need to try find a garage to drop it into. Made it all the way home with no issue so hoping nothing major. It’s not flashing so not super serious by looks of it.

Got jab on Friday and it’s 15 min drive away, not sure whether to risk driving there or not.

If it was dangerous or serious the engine would have dropped into limp made.

Depending on the light it could be anything from the washer-bottle is low to the engine's about to blow up - though that one usually comes on after the engine has blown up.

Yeah given I did 35 miles on the motorway with the light on and no issues then hoping it’s nothing overly serious. But got it booked in Friday morning to run diagnostic check. £25 to find out what the issue is

If its not one first thing this morning then you know its temperature related.

Mostly these are sensors that may be intermittent.

For example the oxygen sensor on the exhaust. No issue at all.

It.depends.on your car model what the scope.of the light is but you said engine so it could.be air inflow sensor or a warning on a coil pack or some such.

Main thing is watch the temperature gauge <ok> if your thermostat I gone then that is more serious.

Done some Googling and talks about potentially emissions. Temp seemed fine unless the reading is broken. Haven’t tried it this morning, might pop out later see if it’s still showing.

booked in for tomorrow morning, only £25 to diagnose it so we’ll see

Hopefully you'll be ok - sometimes warning lights come on just for something to do.
Although I've only ever driven older cars - I think modern cars warn you when your toe-nails need cutting.

the water temp won't be wrong, the thermostat is what speeds up the flow.

You are right a lot of it is indeed sensors looking at emissions which really is what the oxygen sensor is for. If its not burned coming out then the fuel isn't either.

They get hot and break down over time. It'll hopefully be simple enough but they'll still charge you garage prices for the part and the install. an oxygen sensor can be screwed out and changed yourself if you can get under the car and they can be bought for half nothing unless you pay brand prices.

the brother in law has done that about 4 times for me.

my newish car is now giving me all sorts of eco tips etc.

I bought a new one after my old one finally completely went boom. Basically profited from someone putting every gadget under the sun on their shiny new car and then they sold it off to get their next toy. (I have paid the new car depreciation once and said why do this again)

It'll nearly drive itself but gets very snippy if you don't hold the wheel with lane assist or if you leave a window open and the air con on etc.

Sad news about Michael Ballack's 18 year old son, killed in a quadbike accident. I understand he was riding on his own on the family estate when it tipped over and crushed him.

Quad bikes are notoriously dangerous or to be more precise are notoriously dangerous if you don't care .

Once did a corporate entertainment day where we raced quads and a Honda Pilot across a course prepared in a field. It was fun, but scary at times.

So I can’t get into my biscan account.

And I can’t authorise this one as no email comes through so I can PM anyone <laugh>

Can someone message brb for me and ask him to look into it. Seems like no email is coming through and I need my password reset for biscan
