    RTB :emoticon-0148-yes:

Just miffed that I am not there.

A home win would be awesome...

One problem is of course is that we are still in the middle of assembling our squad... whilst Wigan have several our of old boys, eg our goalscorer and captain from last season to name but two... what can possibly go wrong!

Season won't be won or lost on Sat. Even if we go one down, hopefully there is a roar similar to the Charlton home game a couple of years ago and a similar ending will do nicely.

Get behind the wizards, I'm sure we all will do!

I think we are heading for 30k here. The North stand looks to be selling pretty well, which is normally hard to shift. Only a dozen or so tickets left in the upper blocks.

Great thread RTB and your team will do me for now but we need Dan in their with Elliot and Luke to hit the top, and that,s were I want us to be, we also need to be stronger at the back but simply do not have the players to do it , I hope soon to see a couple of fresh faces in their to really make a statement but we are undoubtedly heading in the right direction which is OaU and doing it the right way playing exciting football, cant wait for Saturday. Away the lads.

Gone for a draw in this one. Very tough game for two teams who will both be battling it out at the top end of the table. 1-1.

great thread again RTB, I noticed on the form link you pasted that they have a win for Sunderland against Lincoln when we lost 1-2 but i know its not your problem as your thread is A1 as usual. I think looking at that team we will be too strong for them, but i would make 1 change, put Younger at the back where he should be, and Niel in the centre with Embo. If we can keep that midfield and forwardline together without injury we will give most teams a scudding. Unlike a lot of people worried about L+RB im happy with that team plus we have strength in the reserves. I know more experienced will come in , but surely we must keep faith will the young guys who have had a pre season together, never break up a winning team and formula.

Great thread as per RTB, iirc were not usual winners on opening day of new seasons but think we'll have too much for what is a new team for Wigan, 2-0 to the lads.

Brilliant Thread RTB and a fantastic way to start the season.

Both sides are reportedly short of numbers at the back but I'm confident that we will cope with anything they throw at us and with Embleton, Gooch, McGeady and Stewart, we'll cause them a fair few problems.

Opening days fixtures are usually cagey affairs, but I expect our superiority to tell and notch 3 points in a 2-1 win.

Unfortunately, I won't be at the game as it's my daughters wedding, so 4 season card holders will be missing in the South East Corner. So, those of you who are there, please give them a loud roar on our behalf. Enjoy the game and stay safe everyone.

I think there will be goals, Winchester and Neil done well on Friday but will be a tougher test on Saturday with the extra pressure of a 30k crowd. If McGeady is fit then I fancy us strongly to win, we will have some attacking prowess which I think they will struggle to cope with. 3-1 home win. Can't wait for this.

    And we're off!!!

Brilliant thread mate, now I can get excited.

Wigan have had some major disruption with new players coming in so I think we'll have the first half an hour, we need to make it count. I've no idea where they're intending to play Power tbh as he's poor in defence and not quick enough in midfield, I'd love to see him competing with Embleton as he'll probably pick up at least a yellow, if the crowd get involved it could easily be a red.

I like the way we're playing and the running from midfield should take a bit of pressure off McGeady ...

... I'm going for two goals for him from open play, Burge clean sheet.

    Haway the Laaaaaaaads!!!
