I couldn't care less that he's chosen to go to Villa. If £30m is right, I see that as great news. With the exception of the extreme optimists who thought we might be able to convince him to stay, every single one of us knew he was leaving. Whether this summer or next summer. So to get £30m for him is about the level where I'm happy to take the money rather than take his goals for another season.
Don't get me wrong, I'm amazed he's chosen Villa and clearly everything that's come out of his camp about wanting to test himself at the highest level has proven to be BS (shock horror...). But at the end of the day, whether he's playing for City, Villa or Bolton, it remains the case that it's not Saints. Hence why I don't really care who it is that has paid us the money.
