Losing our star player to ****ing Aston Villa just shows the level the club is at.

But hey at least we've got a Chelsea youth team defender. Cheers Gao

Villa a super rich mate it's just the way the games gone. I feel for you tbh because most fans are facing the same fruitless situation until we die

Meh, interested to see if we bring a replacement in though, or whether the club hype up Obefemi and just go with him and Adams...will be a sure sign of whether we really are financially hamstrung or can invest in some quality players

I see you haven’t been paying attention to seemingly anything all summer. Word from the board is transfer fees will be invested and there is at least one solid link (and bid for) another striker. There has never ever been anything *at all* to indicate that Obafemi would be promoted to replacement

A lot of people who don’t seem to have posted for weeks have crawled out of the woodwork to meltdown. Seemingly without even reading that the offer is apparently 30m which is 10m more than most people realistically thought we would get - especially with Spurs being the main suitor

Right move. Not ideal but still the right move for us

Not really any signs of a proper meltdown, just people saying, quite rightly, that Ings implied he would only go to a big club for European football, then goes to a team that we’re almost relegated a season ago and have lost their talisman (or are very close to).

You can still express disappointment at losing a 20 goal a season striker without it being classed as a meltdown.

Personally, I just wish more players would come out and say they are moving for more money. What’s the harm? It’s what we would all want to do.

Nope, we're not replacing a 20 goal a season striker. Not happening

“A lot” might have been overstated but I have spotted at least one. And I of course will not be naming anyone. No good can come from that

Should probs just be quiet about it in first place if you're not gonna bother calling people out directly imo.

Anyway, hardly a surprise that non-regular posters might have turned up for the biggest story of Summer so far is it?

Insults against the club though despite them making the only reasonable choice they could in the scenario? Vicious insults hurled at the player. Those are signs of a meltdown

it is slightly beyond “expressing disappointment” or commenting on Ings basically lying about his ambitions (if indeed he ever directly mentioned the CL thing)

If you say so. I'll wait and see as to whether the board are able to live up to their promises or whether we'll have a load of reasons why all our bids failed and Shane Long will be getting some game time

I don’t think I will be taking posting advice from you. Who exactly do you think you are ?

It is one thing to suddenly appear for the biggest story. But to immediately jump online just to be cunning stunts ...
