As long as we spend the money on a replacement striker I'm ok with this. Having said that not particularly impressed with Ings. So much for testing himself at a higher level. Be ****ing hilarious if we finished above them this season. I guess the sentimental side of me had hoped for him staying one more season. At the end of the day he's a quality striker but injury prone so Villa are rolling the dice a bit. Assuming Ralph and Semmens have all the money from the sale to spend (which I think they do, Gao doesn't take money out of the club) then we should be fine.
I get why we accepted it, £30m is too much to turn down with just a year left. It is sad however that players who are already insanely rich, will reject a massive contract at their boyhood club to get paid an extra £50k (guess) a week. I always get players leaving to win trophies or play for big clubs, but Ings has proven himself to be a mercenary only interested in $$$
