I was going to say I assume they won’t cover all his wages but they might cover most on the understanding that he signs on for them on reduced demands next year (I am assuming a loan)
you could potentially be taller than Kante and play the same role. It just so happens that the two best recent proponents - Kante and Makelele have both been shorter than 6ft
After being rejected by Tammy Abraham, Villa have apparently noe turned their interest toward Danny Ings. Considering he apparently only wants a move if it is to a top club in the champions league, you'd think (at least hope) he would rather extend with us
He’s rejected them? The last I saw is that they only wanted a loan rather than a purchase. The cheeky ****s. About to get 100m and they won’t attempt a purchase? If we follow their current transfer reasoning approach we can expect a 10m offer for Ings any day now
I don’t think he would be overly fussed about going to Villa, but they would offer him more wages and (looking like) a better, albeit small, chance of playing in Europe in the next few seasons. So I could see it being more attractive than extending with us, but also think both are unlikely and if a bigger club doesn’t want him this summer he will leave on a free next summer
Yeah I think he'd rather take his chances next summer than join a Villa side who've just sold their best player. It would be a big gamble on his part to join Villa now - I'd say it's pretty unlikely Villa qualify for Europe.
I’m not sure you can be so bold on the wages comment. Prior to this summer they had 1 player earning over 100k a week who is now leaving. Bailey might be on close to that We are likely offering Ings the same or close to that. Villa were prepared to shatter their wage structure and trigger a bunch of contract renewal requests to try and keep Grealish. I don’t see them coming in with say 150k a week for 4 or 5 years. Not least because Watkins is on half that Their current approach seems like it would be offering us as little as they think they can get away with (but in the derisory sense rather than the normal negotiation sense) and then offering him a similar contract to what we are. And then hoping reputation and promise of investment elsewhere in the team wins people over But they are selling their difference maker. And are only one year removed from only staying up due to a technology failure (albeit substantially improving the squad the summer immediately after) We don’t know what our offer to Ings is but people seem to be acting like it is 80k a week and that other clubs are guaranteed by to be prepared to add 50-100% on top. But there has already been suggestion Spurs won’t meet his demands. And their wage structure would allow it more than Villas ...
Despite not seeing Kante play the position, I would suggest height is an important factor for a CB in the PL. We're interested in Kana as he can play in a number positions.
The other thing about Villa and it may or may not be relevant. John Terry has left as assistant. Now I don't for the life of me think he was the driver behind Villa, but you never really know. Dean Smith may take a few months to recover from losing a no2? Unlikely, but another unknown as well as losing their main player.
Doesn’t really clarify the initial comment as you said “one of our first teamer”. As if one uniquely can’t rely on doing well against championship sides in a friendly Hence I asked which one ...
