@PINKIE this fella is getting around. https://www.thejournal.ie/arctic-walrus-spotted-again-5513813-Aug2021/
Lol, he's heading up your way bro. Spent the last few weeks down here on the Isles of Scilly. They even built a pontoon for him in the end because he kept trying to climb onto the yachts
Seems ridiculous to fine him and give him a suspended sentence. They guy is clearly an old boy who likes collecting military memorabilia. I mean having a tank in the house is taking it a bit far, but you know what I mean
I reckon the stuff he has will pay the fine, I guess the judge already knew that, the fine just ensures he gets rid of it I suppose.
Yeah I make you right. Part of the deal was that he has to sell the tank to a museum. Bit sour grapes though. I bet his neighbours had a scare when he was using it as a snow plough though
Read about this recently. The sale of the tank alone would more than cover the fine I imagine. Love the AA gun though
I found this bit interesting On Monday, the court ordered that the defendant, who cannot be named under German privacy laws, must sell or donate the tank and an anti-aircraft cannon to a museum or collector within the next two years. Surely he IS a collector
Think Germany have pretty strict laws on this sort of stuff too compared to here. Might be wrong though.
There's show on sky documentary's (****ed if i know what it's called) about a guy that goes around the world buying bits of old war machines and selling them on. He will buy a tank turret or maybe just the gun barrel, maybe a gearbox out of an armoured personnel carrier, all rusted to **** but he will have them cleaned and painted in the original paint and move them on a huge profit to "people he knows" who are rebuilding that particular machine. He also buy's complete machines and has them refurbed for himself or others. ****ing amazing what people have lying around in fields/barns or even just junk collection piles
