In my opinion its a bit precious. What offends you is your business.

    Nope…

    Talk less and read more

You’ll find what I wrote was correct

    EDIT
Apologies that came across too ****ty
My point is that you’re stating as fact something which is subjective
You think it’s **** marketing, and you’re entitled to that opinion
Someone else thinks it’s great marketing, and they’re entitled to their opinion (although the factual evidence would suggest you’re more likely to be right)
But some people found it offensive. Merely a stronger take on your own opinion, so who are you to say they’re wrong? (No one is arguing with your view it was **** marketing)

And on this issue it’s not massively important, but on other issues it’s important , IMHO, to accept someone might be offended by something that doesn’t offend you, it’s just how it is but it doesn’t mean they’re somehow weak

Limited involvement at the top usually means high levels of incompetence in their hiring of subordinates who made such crass decisions. Unforgivable at any level. You're obviously not a junior or old timer, hence little sympathy for their obvious inconsideration.

Why do you not see those actions as offensive ? A 65 year old life long supporter having a substantial hike to his annual dues, or him treating his grandkids to a day at the park every now and again. A 25-35 year old supporter of 10 years seeing the price for his kids going up a fair whack? I'd suggest you're attempting to provoke argument, or are totally oblivious to what's important to many supporters.

I just see it as a marketing strapline which backfired. The issue was the hike for concessions - it wasnt the strapline which was simply crap. Earn your stripes was a points promo wasnt it?

Hiding behind a "marketing strapline" hardly excuses insensitivity to historical fan loyalty does it? Then again, you're seemingly a marketing expert so it's ok. That's the only point I can see you making. In my opinion, it's inadequate and tarnishes the club ethos. Money grabbing management with little respect for history.

    How are subscriptions panning out?

The name didn't get changed and the concessions are back. Also if might make a more balanced argument if the reasons the club gave for stopping concessions were taken into consideration. I didn't agree with them at the time but I can see why they were stopped. As it stands today it is cheaper to watch City then it was under the previous owners.
So how long does this grudge last ?

How long are the Allams staying? 24 hours?

Everyone who knows me, knows I'm a man of my word...

You've even twisted the 'gone in 24 hours' quote from ten years ago.
It was 24 hours if a buyer came along.
    No-one did.
I remember Fish and Chris Needler saying exactly the same, but the asking price was £1. When Don Robinson took him up on the offer the goal posts moved to another post code.

Ah, yes. The value of non voting shares...

Robbo had a couple of good deals lined up and approached the banks. Where is your collateral, he was asked. I own the football club. That is just a name he was told, the collateral is in the ground.
Things are a bit different given the riches of the PL, at least if you are in it, but you can see why our club which doesn't own its own ground, is finding it difficult to find a buyer at a price which would buy a club with a ground of its own.

Some people do realise that owning our modest sized stadium is paramount to the future well being of the club.

That is real truth of the matter. Any potential buyer would want to own the ground and that's understandable, but they will know by now, they're not going to get it for free. Catch 22.

As you and Castro and others know first hand how it was back in the day with owners etc it was ignorance is bliss I think for most fans. Not that we had many.
Now it’s all over social media and it fuels it’s own outrage, not just city but everything,

I’m always live n let live tbh do your own thing. But now I think the stay aways cos of this “war “ they have with the Allams are completely misguided.
The Allams have no interest in fans, areas of the ground, etc etc
    It’s all one way.
    And it’s pointless
We aren’t, us who go, putting money in the Allams pockets as is often stated. It’s keeping the club going.
I have no real interest in who owns us I can’t change it
I just go support the team and drink beer
And after the **** 18 months we’ve all had I can’t understand anyone who loves or likes city not going. Life is too short.[/QUOTE]

“This announcement is in accordance with my decision 10 months ago that I would walk away within 24 hours. In actual fact it was 22 hours,” Allam said in a prepared statement. “When I say something, I mean it. I don’t call bluffs, what I say is what you get exactly.”

No mention in this statement of the necessity for a buyer.

"The name didn't get changed" - And there Ladies and Gentlemen is, perhaps, the most succinct summary of the incredible unpaid endeavours of many people, over many weeks, who produced a highly professional document outlining many reasons for the FA to reject the name change. Mind you, when it comes to writing the great epic "The Allam Years", it will save an awful lot of typing to title a chapter "The Name Change", then simply insert - The name didn't get changed.

And 6 million for the SMC? Not so much moving the goalposts as, shall we say, to have them included in the price?
